Oh boy...just got my chain of custody form this morning for a test I have to take around 2 or 3 this afternoon, and found out it's GC/MS. Here's my situation...

I "officially" quit smoking weed about 7 years ago, but over the past few months, have toked a couple of times. The last two times were this past Friday night, and then 2 weeks before that - each time, only two small hits.

I'm 6'3", 230lbs - I'm thick - not "fat", but could stand to lose a few more pounds. My metabolism has been much better than it used to be, as I have lost 40lbs in the past year or so, but I'd still say it's fairly average. I am concious of what I eat more often than not, but being someone who's on the road a lot, I do have a tendency to grab fast food for lunch here and there.

So with 6 days since I took two small hits from a pipe, I have to test today. I had figured since it's pre-employment, it would be EMIT, so thought I would be cool. Do I still have a chance with dillution, or am I screwed?

I've been following N2's dillution technique to a T...have been creatine loading for 3 days, and am just about to start my liquids. I took 4 aspirin this morning, around 6:30, and gonna take another four in about 15 minutes (10:00 my time).

No time for subbing at this point....any other suggestions would be appreciated!

I also have a guy I know who tested for the same company and passed, who is a regular smoker - he stopped smoking 3 days before, took Vale's Triple Strength, and passed with flying colors...I keep reading that those things don't work, but he said he didn't do anything else but drink that and not smoke for three days...has anyone here actually HAD success with that stuff?

Okay...I did a little research and found an explanation of the test code that's on my form (from N2 on another site) - it's a 6405N SAP 5-50 GC/MS -

From what N2 wrote, that just means that they'll only use the GC/MS to confirm a positive on the initial screening? Is that correct? If so, I feel much, MUCH better about this whole thing -

sorry guys, I'm just a little freaked - I'm going back to my old company, who NEVER drug tested before, so I didn't even think about it last Friday night at the party...Monday, found out I had to piss in the cup - my heart sank to my bladder...

I'm gonna keep on dilluting - wish me luck...

my opinion is it is possible to dilute and get away with it if it is done right, my last time i used alka selzar and it work before that i have had dilutes, and what else was diffrent is i used 5 days before my last test and was clean before that, and its very possible i was clean going into the test, but i diluted. and everything has been okay. but if they ever drop a gc/mc test on me and i dilute it someone always detects weed, or just comes out dilute, i am on probation i test every monday and friday..

Yeah, I was just reading that it's damn near impossible to fool a GC/MS by dilluting, but N2's interpretation of the test type makes me feel a lot better - it's a 50 ng/ml cut off on the test, so looks like it's a EMIT screening to start, and will only use the GC/MS to confirm a positive over 50 ng/ml. I have a feeling I'm clean anyway...but I already gave my notice at my current job, and there's no turning back now...lol. I'm just sticking to N2's dilution guidelines, and hoping for the best.

Both immunoassay and GC/MS tests have equivalent cutoff levels, despite the numerical difference. The immunoassay tests look at 31 THC metabolites. GC/MS tests look at only only one.

All tests have cutoff levels, below which you'll test negative. If you get your THC metabolite levels low enough to pass one you'll be able to pass the other.

Well, I just went and did it...N2's dillution method had all of the physical attributes at the same time that he said it would, as far as voiding clear - adding in the B2 and having it turn yellow...I loaded up on Creatine for the past three days - and it was in the powdered form, so should have been absorbed into my system pretty well.

Here's to holding my breath...lol

So on this test, I came back negative-dillute, so I had to re-test yesterday. An hour before the test I came up negative with the At Home brand test without dillution. Yesterday was 9 days since I smoked, and that was the first time I had smoked in a while.

After I passed the home test, I slammed a 32 oz gatorade and drove to the lab. Haven't heard anything back yet, and am supposed to start tomorrow...luckily, it's okay for me to call them and find out if they've gotten the results, because they were waiting on some other background info too - so I can call with that preface, and then "oh by the way" question the drug test...

Again...holding my breath, but feeling a little more confident this time...
