I remember when I tested positive for DOT about 9 years ago and the hassle it became at the time. I was mad at the world and I couldn't see the blessing in disguise it was going to turn out to be. I had to do 6 follow ups after that and I passed 5 in a row. The last one I refused to take, and they refused to let me stay there.
The next job was 100 times better and it never would have happened had I not tested positive the first time. When it was all said and done I was glad it happened to me.
So ya just never know...

Default Seeing the positive (no pun intended)

I am beginning to see this as a good thing for me as well. It now opens the door to working for myself. Maybe open my own testing center. Wouldn't that be a hoot!

Seriously, I am really thinking this through. In the industry my skills are in, there is potiential for good money in places you never thought of. I know this to be true as I recently (Wednesday) did some work for which I earned $1200.00 (self induced problems I had to clean up for them) for basically a 6 hour working day and 3 hour drive time. For 9 hours this is good money and I can this almost (normally $500.00 plus expenses per day) every time I work for a company as a consultant/technician. Starting to feel better all the way around. I do love America and being somewhat of a capitalist.

Glad to here you hav a good outlook. Good Luck and I hope everything works out for you. By the way the test you took should have said somewhere on there what the cutoff was at Labcorp

Default It's not on the paperwork I have

I have looked at the paper work but didn't find it there. I did however find it on the web. Once I started poking around it was there, you really have to look for it though. I took another home test just today for the heck of it and the line is much darker the the last time without any prep. I am going to challenge the test and have on done at an independant lab this week. With this and a statement from my doctor, I should be able to prove the test they tok was bad and get the position. However, I'm not real sure I want to work for a company that wants this much control over the folks that work for them after hours. I believe if you functions where you work are better than average they should just leave you alone and not jack with you. It would make for some really happy workers and production, in a perfect world, would either remain the same or become better as the resources wouldn't be sweating about being tested randomly. I know a number of corporate officers that indulge and do it without fear as they are so far up the food chain they can't be touched. At any rate, since seperating from my previous employer (no issues with them or them with me) I have found a number of their customers want me to do consulting. I'm thinking it's opportunity knocking and I should probably open the door and let it in.

If iit is not a regulated DOT test the employer can set the cutoff rate at what ever they want only DOT tests are held to a 50 ng for THC I believe. They can also ask for as much piss as they want if not a DOT test
