failed my pre employment piss test...hadn't smoked in 2 weeks, even then i was a light to moderate smoker (1-2x daily). i used this drink they sell at the local head shop called Stat1 royal flush. anyways, i'm sooo depressed, i was counting on this oppurtunity and i feel like i ****ed it up. i'm beating myself up over this pretty bad. the HR person said she didn't have actual test results on hand, she said that it just came back no good. she says they'll mail out a letter giving details...also she said i can dispute if i wanted. What's that mean, anybody with info on disputes???

I may be wrong but I always thought if the test was positive, a MRO would call YOU first to inform you of the results and to question you about possible medications and such that may have interfered with the test before they report it to the employer. Did they call you first....?"Came back no good" is not good enough and you have the right to know the details and without delay. Look this board deals only in marijuana discussion and nothing else but, for the sake of argument, lets say you have a legal prescription for any narcotic. Thats why they have to call you first. If you don't have a legal script number then you're screwed, but if you do they record that number and it is then reported as a negative test because you had a legal prescription for whatever you were on. Employees already working usually have the option of a re-test but for pre-employment they can do whatever they want and usually they'll just drop the prospective employee because they figure they're not gonna deal with it. Unless they told you more than you are saying here, you were given vague information.

....Im not the expert here friend I just try to help because I myself failed one years ago when the CDL program just got started and I know what it feels like and it just plain sucks. Some of these other guys here who know much more can guide ya but I feel bad for your predicament and Im sure it doesn't feel much like Thanksgiving to you right now. Let me say though, when I failed my test although I didn't know it at the time, it turned out to be one of the best things that ever happened to me because the next job after was a hundred times better and if I had passed god forbid I would probably still be there.

Yes I would dispute it, gives you more time to home test and then practice the dillution method. An MRO should have called you but I took a test for a company [non DOT test] and they called me to have me call the testing lab and tell them my RX #'s for a couple of positves for opiates and Benzo's. I thought that was wierd because I always thought that the MRO was supposed to call you. I worked there 2 and a half days and seen they were a bunch of a$$holes and walked out at lunch on the 3rd day. Then I got another job a week or so later [ a much better one] and the MRO did call me for that one which is the way it should be.

On a pre employment test, the MRO is not nessecarily the first to get a hold of you. That usually pertains to randoms and the others, on a pre employment test, its the HR people in charge of your destiny. It'll probably come back....spiked,( the real term slips me now) or diluted.... with whatever you used. THOSE FLUSHING , AND SPIKING, agents just don't cut it.
They labs have a solution they drop in, to check for ClearTest, or QuickFlush Caps.....etc. Then its a "no result"....so the HR people can pass on hiring you!

And i'd have to hope he was trying to say "what legal leg do i have to stand on if i dispute this?" OR maybe i just can't imagine someone being that damn stupid?

I think you should offer to pay for a retest. Get Quick Fix. Those drinks are detectable in some tests. Next time test yourself first.

what's with all the drug testing? what kind of jobs are u guys getting? i've never had to deal with that before and had at least 8 or so jobs...

PS why wouldn't u just get a friends piss or something?

Just out of curiousity have any of the jobs you've had not involved french fries or retail? I know i haven't had the pleasure of a pre-employment test, however I've worked in the mortgage/escrow business...mortgage brokerage shops don't care...they're all on something or another anyway. Any escrow work i've done was temping...and as a temp they don't care...had i gotten hired on i would have been required to do a drug test and background check. But just about everyone i know has to take em....unless it's mickey d's!
