Hello, The way it works is if you have not already failed a previous test you need only pass a 5-panel emit drug screen(50ng/ml metabolite), then upon positive emit it is sent for gc/ms confirmation(15ng/ml). On the emit they test for validity by creatine level being over 20mg/mL, if it is under 20 they check for specific gravity to be at least 1.003. I believe it is also unsupervised. Is there a specific dilution technique that should be used with such said specifications? Or would you recommend substitution since it is unsupervised(synthetic urine or an additive like urine luck)? Any other DOTer's out there with specific info?? Ive been on the random list for almost a year and have not had to go yet. All replies are greatly appreciated

I suggest that because it's unsupervised you sub. Most truckers do. In fact they carry one with them for those random tests.

I have done it both ways, but the Quick Fix is the sure thing unless you have a few days to take it and can do the dillution method. If you use the dillution method I recomend that you practice with it with a few home tests to see what works for you. Carry the Quick Fix for those 72 hour rode side inspections because they can pull you out of the line at the scale house and either inspect your truck or give ya a piss test just have the Quick Fix handy so you can slap the heating pad on it or if you have a micro in your truck then you wont have to tell them you just pissed and wont have to wait around so long. The less time spent at a scale house the better.

Thats is correct for DOT.
Yes, DOT tests are unsupervised unless you had been suspected of tampering.
I strongly recommend substituting, whether its Quick Fix synthetic, or a clean buddys sample. Additives are a bad idea, especially for DOT, because DOT requires only 45 ml of sample. The UL additive requires 60-90 ml of sample to be effective. Anything under 60 ml will get the sample flagged as adulterated due to an abnormal ph.
If you are gonna sneak anything into the bathroom stall, sneak something in thats 100% effective, such as a clean sub sample.
Perhaps you can check out the link below. It contains all the regulations and protocols in which the collectors must follow. By law, any deviations from these regulations renders the test results as void. Certainly a "must bookmark" for any individual facing a DOT test:

One way to tell if a driver is gonna get hit with a drug test at the scale house is if a mobile collection van (which could easily be identified) is present.
If no mobile unit is present, the sample collection would have to be done at an approved collection facility, according to Section 40.41a Subpart D of the DOT regulations.

An approved collection facility is one that contains:
1. Writing surface
2. personnel, equipment, materials, storage, and shipping materials
3. single toilet room w/ privacy door or multi-stall restroom w. partial door
4. water source for washing hands
5. closed off area to keep the testing confidential

In other words, any office restroom will do. As long as you can close the door to the general public and secure the water sources. The office restroom at the weigh station will do. A portable toilet at a construction site and a moist towelette will do.

If you are going to spout regulation, please be sure to read the ENTIRE regulation, not just the first paragraph.

But almost everytime they do it it is in a piss wagon at the scale house from my past 1 million miles accident free driving and my Dads 3.5 million accident free driving. Not regulation but experience applied here
