Default Negative-Dilute

I got pulled for a random this week and was able to drink enough water that my test was negative with dilution. I was sent back to test again and was able to pound the water so I expect the same result again. My concern is with the test protocol. I have now been tested three times this year-one pre-employment and the two this week. The first two tests were handled exactly the same by the lab---my sample was split in two containers and then sealed and I initialed both. My retest yesterday was not split in two....they simply filled one container and had me initial the seal. I questioned this and was told that "this is the way we do it". My concern is this: Are they running a different test? I am held to DOT testing standards but the company is not forced to follow these guidelines. I have been told a second negative dilute will be satisfactory and no further testing will be required (until I am drawn from the pool again). Is there a more accurate test that may be used when a negative-dilute is found on the first test? Thanks in advance for the help.

A more accurate test wouldn't make any difference. In order to pass you have to have your THC metabolites levels below a certain threshold. A more accurate test would simply show that those levels were, indeed, below the threshold of the first test but not high enough to be considered a "fail".

A negative-dilute result means that your THC metabolites levels fell below the threshold but other factors indicate that you've gotten there by drinking a lot of fluids. If your place of employment is willing to accept repeated negative-dilute results as valid negatives you're very lucky. Most places will require you to get a true negative.

Default True Dat

I was surprised at their willingness to except another negative-dilution but they indicated that would suffice. I'm a big guy and told them I was dieting and drinking mega amounts of water toward this end. Any thoughts on why LAb Corps would use a different protocol? My company requires two samples as there policy is no retest on positive samples-only a test from the second sample.
