| Ok here's my story. A while ago I entered a diversion program due to a court order to remove an infraction off of my record. Over the course of this diversion, they have given me random UA's to ensure I stay clean during the course of the program. I'd had a few dillutes over the course of the program but never had gotten two in a row that would warrant speculation. Everything was going fine. Now I just found out that I had two dillutes in a row and their policy is that it will result in a "non-comply" with their program unless I get a medical explaination as to why that is. I'm a slender person, don't eat a lot of meats, and drink a lot of water each day and barely ever smoke but I've just done the water loading just to be sure. I'm guessing they are using the standard UA test because the results are coming back dillute because of a low creatine level in my urine sample (I think they used the term below 20). So my question is, what is it that could contribute to conistently dillute UA's aside from water loading? Is there any medical conditions that would cause this that a doctor might be able to conclude on? I'm really sick of my privacy being invaded like this but I just want to get this over with and now I have to go talk to a doctor so he can conclude on why exactly they are coming up dillute. Any insights or comments would be greatly appreciated, thanks. |

| Are you following the dilution guidelines? Dilution and aspirin-- the technique DILUTION: tips, tricks and guidelines from N2 Part of the dilution protocol is designed to raise your creatinine levels and the specific gravity of your sample. When those are below the normal range for human urine your test comes back "dilute".

| Yes I've been using N2's method each time. Like I said before though, I barely smoke and was just doing it to stay on the safe side. The UA's are over now though but they now want a medical explaination as to why I've had dilutes over the course of the program. I'm thinking about just telling the doctor that I have a poor diet and drink a lot of water and that's why they are coming back like this, but, I'm not sure that will be a valid excuse for the people in charge. I guess I was just curious if anybody else had to explain why their sample was dilute and/or came up with a valid reason that they would accept. |

| I'm not a doctor, but here's my 2 cents worth: Tell the doctor that you are a vegetarian, and make sure you drink eight full glasses of water each day (probably more) for your complexion (you read in a magazine that drinking lots of water helps your skin). For emphasis, go into the doc's office with a large bottled water for show. Because you are slender, you might get away with it. (stress the word "MIGHT") |
