The only thing that can cause you to fail a THC (marijuana) test is THC (marijuana). Other than the extremely rare false positive (false negatives are much more common), there is nothing else that can show positive for THC. Some anti-depressants, sleeping aids, cough medicine, decongestants, etc... can cause you to fail a 2, 3, 4, 5, or more panel test, but not for THC. If you are worried about other substances, that is for discussion in another forum.

I really think you are dwelling on this toooooo much. Also, stop wasting your money. You have ALREADY TAKEN THE TEST. All the at home tests in the world will not change the outcome of the test you have already taken.

I cannot emphasize enough my desire for you to CHILL. I really do not mind answering your questions, however, I am beginning to become concerned that you are going to give yourself a cardiac episode due to the stress you are putting yourself under.

I'm pretty sure if you drank fluids several hours prior to your test, you won't be diluted. There actually are 2 types of "diluted".

Positive dilute is a test that shows signs of tampering or substitution.

Negative dilute is a test that just has too much fluid, not enough stuff that makes urine what it is (creatinine and the specific gravity).

49CFR, part 40.93:
What criteria do laboratories use to establish that a specimen is dilute or substituted?
(a) As a laboratory you must consider the primary specimen to be dilute if the creatinine concentration is less than 20mg/dL and the specific gravity is less than 1.003 unless the criteria for a substituted specimen are met.
(b) As a laboratory you must consider the primary specimen to be substituted if the creatinine concentration is less than or equal to 5mg/dL AND the specific gravity is less than or equal to 1.001 or greater than or equal to 1.020.

Now, after all this, please don't forget to write in here when you have confirmation that you have passed.

You're right. I will now relax and chill out. I just wanted a little more self confidence, hence the third test. I fell pretty good and I'll keep you posted my friend. Thanks so much for helping Annoying Test Guy out. I really appreciate it.

Hey, Annoying Test Guy, I really didn't mind. you actually caused me to re-read my regs and bone up on what makes a diluted test dilute. Thanks for asking challenging questions.

YES! I'm going out on a limb and bet the farm on it (and I live in farm country). Don't blame me if I'm wrong though (but I don't think I am wrong).

At any rate, we'll both know tomorrow, right? (don't answer, that was a retorical question).

Actually, new standards have been established as of Nov 2004, rendering the above-stated creatnine levels out of date. The changes can be found here: http://www.dot.gov/ost/dapc/NEW_DOCS...IFR_200411.doc

Hope that helps a little

Well, I learn something new every day. Actually I have signed up with the Federal Register and they are supposed to update my email with any changes regarding CFR 49. I either missed that one or something went wrong with my automatic update. I was quoting from the 08/2004 version. I guess its time I got a new book. Thanks.

next day:
I compared the two regulations. The quantities for Specific gravity and creatinine are the same, the big difference is the newer reg requires the out of range levels to occur on both the primary and secondary sample.
Correct me if I am wrong. (really)

Well, it's been 48 hours since the test and I have recieved no word. I take that as good news as discussed before in this thread, no news is good news. I called the drug testing center where I gave the sample and the lady was real cool and I played dumb b/c actually the employer filled out the sheet I had to turn in with the sample wrong. Anyway I called and said I was leaving town for a few days to hit the slopes and wanted to make sure everything was o.k. with the paperwork b/c there seemed to be a little bit of confusion and I wanted to make sure all was straight before I left for the mountains. She looked me up and said everything looked good as far as the paperwork was concerned and if I had any non-negatives, some drug tester guy from Quest would actually call me. She also said they are pretty quick with getting the results and said they usually get them the following morning after the test and it's been 48 hours from the test and I haven't heard anything from drug tester guy or my new job. I had to call my new supervisor too just to check in before I start next week and he was super cool. Everything looks pretty solid, you think?
