Need a job, found a job, but must take a drug test before starting. Theres no way im going to pass, the test is going to be with in the next 2 weeks. I've been smoking for years, on and off daily smoker (currently on that habit right now since early september)...

My plan: The place im going to take my urine test at is not too strict so i hear. No one is in the room while you are peeing... I plan on bringing a friend a long with me and right before i go inside the "lab" so to say, my friend is going to piss in a condom for me that I will be using to subsitute. It shouldn't take more than 5 minutes for me to be in the room giving my sample.

I'll probably bring one of those hand warmers (put in your pocket for cold days, it warms it self up when exposed to air) just to keep the urine at a good temp.

The urine im going to use is 100% clean so i'm set at that... does this sound like a winning plan? Otherwise im screwed... From the time I take my friends urine to the time im handing them the cup should not be more than 10-15 minutes.

Why bring your friend to the lab? Just have him pee for you at home before you leave for the lab. You are going to keep the substitution warm anyway.

As a tester, I hate when people bring their friends with them. It's just one more person I have to watch in my office. This only indicates to me that they are too immature to handle the adult tasks on their own. If it's for a pre-employment, this doesn't look good.

(please don't take this to mean that I think you are immature. I am only saying that if you bring a friend to a testing site, THAT LOOKS like you are immature).

Thanks for the feedback, and no worries about the immature comment, i fully see where you are coming from. The lab is in a little strip mall, so he'll probably just go grab some food while he waits for me.

I plan on having him pee right before I go in there so the urine can be as close to natural temperature as possible... just a little safety precaution because i dont have a temperature indicator.

Think ive got a decent shot passing the urine off as untampered?

your temp is going to drop pretty fast anyways. i agree with sec, u should get it @ home and pack it on your person. less chance for mishaps. i heard people store it in their underwear and sit with a cup of coffee between their legs. also, you can buy an at home test and it comes with a cup with a temp strip on it. they may even sell the temp strip itself without the whole test. good luck!!

You're temp on the pee is going to drop very quickly. I love the sub method, becuase it means I don't have to quit smoking Keeping it warm is a great idea, I always bring a thermos of hot water for the car ride, and then stash my sample right before I go in. Remember that it is bettter to have it too hot, you can then blow on in and swirl it around to get it to the right temp, but if it's too cold you're screwed.

When I had to go take a test a couple of months ago I sat waiting to go back for 30 minutes, just something to think about

Try to use an empty travel-size shampoo bottle or something similar in size to store the sub'ed sample, instead of a condom. Much easier to handle and work with, IMO.

As far as a temperature indicator goes, stick-on forehead thermometer strips work wonders for monitoring sample temp. They can be found at any pharmacy store.

Plenty of time to order synthetic, which comes with heating pads....and then you won't have to worry. It should arrive in at least 3 days standard shipping.....

IMO no need to spend the money on synthetic when you have clean pee and you can use hand warmers.

FYI:
Collectors are required to read the temp with-in 4 minutes. After 4 minutes, the specimen could cool to much to be accurate and we must document the fact that the temp was not read.
My Point:
That means your sub, without artificial warming, will be way too cool by the time your friend gives it to you, you go into the test site, fill the paperwork, are escorted to the restroom, do what you need to do, then open the door for the collector. You REALLY need an artificial warming method. By the time your friend hands it to you and you stash it, it could become too cool and your skin temp will not rewarm it enough.

I did a bunch of practicing with cool water...found it took at least an hour to get it up to 95 on a digital thermometer. Once I did a few practice runs like this, i knew my temp would be OK, and no need to add the risk of bringing the thermometer to the test. Practice a few times with your warming method.
