| I called LabCorp, and they wouldn't tell me anything. They said that the Donor must ask the employer what the test entails. QUOTE from LabCorp: "All they need to know is that they are coming in for a drug screen". When I told LabCorp that usually the employer (or rather, the employers HR dept.) didn't know what the drug test entailed and therefore the donor isn't fully informed when he/she gives consent by signing the CCF, the person at LabCorp said that the donor didn't need to know. I'm sorry, some labs are full of BS that way. I believe you shouldn't subject yourself to a drug test until the employer can FULLY inform you of the procedure (including lab procedures). The problem with that is, if you question and seem hesitant to give a specimen until you have all the answers, they look at you like you are already guilty. Its a no-win situation for the donor. You must sign the consent without being fully informed or you are considered positive by default. Not really fair, but thats the world we live in. |
