Today I went to talk with my prospective employer about the next stages of the hiring process. We talked about how the necessary sales license application and also about the drug test. Next we went to the HR office and I was told that since there may be not enough time to complete the DMV portion of the application that day since it was getting late that we should try and get the UA out of the way immediately. He wanted me to do the UA without any prior notice, or more importantly without asking if I had the time to do it that day. Since he knows I am still working at my present job, I thought it a better idea to tell him that I did not have the time right there to travel to the test center, and I would try and get it done early next week, when I could fit it in. He said he would not be there in the office next week- could be a lie- and come in anyway. Do you all think that this a trick to foil subbing plans etc. by asking that you do the test at that moment or was he just trying to get the hiring process over and done with. I know my story was plausible about having to be back at work soon and I was all dressed in my office clothes. Is he hiring a drug user for sure??????????

if he likes you, he probably wants you to pass wouldn't you think? I don't think most employers are enthusiastic to actually catch people, most of the time the decision to drug test isn't really their idea anyway.

I guess you will know next week if he is lying or not. But anyway you bought yourself some time so use it wisely
