I am a student in college, and was caught smoking weed by my mom a few days after Christmas over Winter Break. I lied to her and said I'd never smoke weed again, and agreed to take a drug test over Spring Break, which is from March 9-18. I have no idea when or how the test will be given, but for safety's sake I am assuming it will be a urine test, since if it is a hair test I can tell her that the positive result was from before she caught me.

I have been smoking daily for the past month or so. Overall, I smoked a little over a quarter ounce of high quality ganja, and consumed two cookies which collectively contained about .9 grams of the same high quality stuff.

I am 5'8 142 pounds and am naturally skinny. I lift weights 3 times a week, and I have recently started biking using high intensity interval training to try and speed up my metabolism even more. I don't know if it will be enough though to get the THC out of my system before test time. I don't even know if I can resist smoking for the next 3 weeks, but I might be able to if I stand a good chance of passing the test without any form of cheating.

Is it possible to detect HOW MUCH one smoked in a drug test, or is it only possible to detect THAT one smoked? Because if it is possible to detect the quantity a person smoked, my situation is much more difficult. If not though, I was thinking of telling my mom that I accidentally inhaled some second hand smoke, or that I accidentally consumed a cookie which contained marijuana.

Any advice on my situation (If to cheat, what form of cheating to use, etc.) would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Inhaling some second hand pot smoke will not make you fail a test, and as for the cookie thing, well, I have never met your mother but very few people are stupid enough to buy that excuse, and I'm assuming your mother isn't either.

Taking a step back, this site is not for helping people deceive their parents. But are you over 18? Is she drug testing you not simply because you're still a "child," but because she will take away certain things from you if you fail (ie. college tuition or other expenses?). If you're under 18, this discussion is over.

I am 20 years old. My parents pay for college, and could make my life very difficult if necessary. My mom is a religious fundamentalist and when I tried to explain to her that cannabis is better for you than nicotine or tobacco (I even printed out the scientific studies to prove it), she simply stared at me blankly and said "But it's destructive!" I then told her how long I had been smoking weed for, and how it had virtually no effect on my grades/other commitments, but she still insisted that I needed to quit "or else". Basically, rational discourse between her and I cannot exist on this issue.

She found out that I smoke marijuana by sitting down at my laptop when I was gone and forgot to lock it (but the screen was turned down 4/5ths of the way), and reading an AIM chat I had with a friend in which I talked about some of my drug exploits. I angrily pointed out to her that this was a flagrant violation of my privacy, and she responded, "I'm your mother and it's my duty to protect you".

And yes, in some ways my mother is stupid, because if I put on a convincing enough performance, there is a good chance I could induce her to believe that I 'accidentally' ate a marijuana cookie.

If I fail this drug test, I do not know what the consequences will be, but I do know that they will be very, very unpleasant.

I didn't say I can't stop, I'm saying that it would be kind of tough, because I enjoy smoking, but if I stood a decent chance of passing from now until test day (unspecified day between Mar 9-18), I would stop cold turkey for sure.
