Well I got the tough news today. Went in & talked to my doctor as know I have to release my medical records when I do the life insurance. Have talked to the doc about my daily MJ use before & as such its now part of the record. At least when put in the records, he stated that I used MJ for relaxation & that there did not appear to be any issues with personal or work related problems (not that this would help much). Doc said he would update my records & indicate that I've been off smoke for over a month, but other than that, not much he can do.

Guessing now there is no reason to worry about dilutions or other attempts to speed up the process for a clean urine sample, though I'll continue to abstain until the medical exam is complete. From there will just have to let the cards fall where they might.

Less than a week now & I'll have our new vaporizor warmed up for when the exam is over. I've been feeling left out with my wife having her new toy & all I could do was watch.

Lesson here, for me at least was that I thought it was safe to discuss anything with my doc, but this time seems it will come back & bite me in the butt. Will be interesting now to see how MJ use affects the insurability for my policy. I'll post the final outcome with the insurance once we get the underwriters response.

I am really glad you posted. This way, now people know that when you want to discuss a medical matter with a doctor and you need to include your marijuana use in that discussion, go to another doctor (not your usual family doc). Use a fake name and pay cash.

Can you maybe limit the information your doctor gives the insurance company? I know you will need to sign a release so the doc can give med. records to the ins. company. Can you maybe modify that release to include only COVERED medical problems? Does your doctor need to release CONVERSATIONS as well?

I think with 30 days and the dilution method you will be fine. Buy about 4-5 home test kits and make sure though. Test yourself at the 3 week mark. Test your first urination of the day and if you fail that then dilute and test again. If you still fail you may want to look in to rescheduling but you may just wait a couple more days and retest the same way. Dirty urine then diluted urine. If you are still failing with diluted urine 3 weeks and 3 days in to it then you definitely need to reschedule, but I think you'll find you pass the diluted test and possibly the dirty test. If you want to load up on tests you could test your first piss of the day, your third, and then a diluted piss test and see the results. That will really tell you something.

Creatine is found in red meat in an abundant supply. You don't need a supplemental form as long as you don't mind eating 2 big burgers or a steak a day for 3-4 days leading up to the test. Buy a multi-vitamin to make sure your diluted urine has some color to it. You'll be all set then.

Ooooo ... ouch. That' sucks ass. I would never tell my doctor anything. For some reason I don't trust them with knowledge they don't need, and it appears I was in the right on that. Not because I knew better or anything, just because I don't trust anybody that I don't know I can trust.

Yeah, talking to the doc, I blew that one, hesitated for a lot of years, & decided to bring it up during a physical last year, should have listened to my guts. Cancelled the appointment today, going to rethink how to proceed.

Best thing that came out of all this was finding this websight. I've learned alot & found a great resource for many topics.

Can you tell me how your test went and if they tests for marijuana?

If you'd actually READ the threads that you posted in, the general consensus is that a urine test for insurance purposes is not a drug screen, but a screen for other health issues such as diabetes (the only ailment on the top of my head that can be detected in urine).

If you have any questions about what your insurance company needs to test you for, ask them.

Thank you for your promp responce I appreciate it. I know what the test consist of, I just wanted to know if after you took the test were any traces of THC in your system detected and did this affect your rate if it did? One part of test consist of a urine sample and it specifies that it is a drug test which also mentions the word "cocaine" the test is also to search for those unwanted long term diseases which the Ins. Co. is screening for. I wanted to have this dialog with you (If you are the person who had the test if not it was my mistake sending you this message) so I could get some first hand information on the outcome of your screening,and how marijuana was a factor if any. I`m not interested in a group consensus of assumptions (sorry if I offended anybody), due to no one in the thread actually going through a screening the information to me is not 100% accurate. The information that was posted can be found online on most websites for pot and Life Ins. information by persons who actually took the test is not as easily located and yours was one of the few. To suggest that I did not read the posting is inaccurate and another one of those assumption that is not 100%.
