I have a life insurance test coming up mid March & need to make sure I'm clean. Will be 30 days without smoke come test time (Shocked myself that I've made it almost 2 weeks so far without smoking so far!). I've smoked daily for 25+ years, am 6'2 & 300 #'s. From what I've seen on this sight, its not likely I'll be clean in 30 days because of my body mass even though I've started excersizing daily. Will likely use N2's dilution method, but have some questions. What is the purpose of the aspirin? would adding salt help or hurt? Should I dilute more because of my size, or less because I'll have been clean for 30 days by the time I test? I have to get this right as family is riding on it, wife can't work due to chronic pain & I'm the only income. Policy will be pretty big to make sure they are taken care of if something happens.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it is for Ins. and they come to your house to test you then just go for the sub method, but with 2 weeks down whats another 2 weeks. Think of the good buzz when it is all over with

Thanks to both of you.

Planning on a test run next week timed to when the visit will come one the 16th. Gives me some time to rethink things if results aren't what I hope for. Already rescheduled once so hope to avoid that, but no one holding a gun to my head. Will see how it goes with the ins exam in a couple of weeks & post the results.

Sub isn't an option, wife just isn't comfortable with it & I just don't know enough about any of this. I've never had to deal with drug tests before, fortunately my employer is of the belief what I do on my time is my business as long as I don't show up with my lips on the floor.

Hawg, my thoughts exactly, man am I going to get stupid when this is all over. Can't wait!!

I'm not so sure about subbing for a test for Insurance. They don't typically check for drugs. They check for life threats and I am not at all sure what type of testing is run on the urine. For a sub, you either use synthetic or someone else's urine. If using the latter, have you asked if they are HIV positive, have they been screened for diabetes, hepatitus, TB, kidney disease, etc., etc., so on and so forth?

It's one thing to use a sub for a simple drug test, it is quite another to use a sub for medical testing. I think your wife is on to something here.

I appreciate the input. going to start with a dry run using N2's dilutions method at home in a week & will see what happens. Will be 3 weeks clean then so hoping combination of being clean that long & Dilution does the trick.

Seems to be a question if Insurance will test for drugs or not, but have to play it safe (man do I want to get a buzz on). Fortunately nicotine isn't an issue, just need to cover my butt on bud use.

Does anyone know if the testing kits from local pharmacy also indicate if there is a problem with SG? See in some of the other dilution methods they have you adding salt to the Gatorade to validate SG, but didn't see it with N2's guidelines.

Why sub a life insurance policy. If they don't except you, that's life. Try another

Nicotine IS an issue for life insurance or health insurance. You only seem to focus on the pot.

Are you SURE this is for an insurance test? Usually when someone is deceptive or focused on only one thing, and throwing out lines like what is quoted above, it indicates they may not be all they claim (i.e. underage, or trying to fool the parents). I'm not saying YOU imparticular are doing that, it's just your remarks INDICATE you are.

Like Grillmeats said, if they dont accept you, find another life insurance carrier. We have already given you advice to call the insurance company and find out exactly what they will learn from your urine.

I wouldn't recommend using synthetic urine for an insurance test. I don't know what tests are being run on the urine. For the reasons listed above, I also wouldn't recommend using another person's urine. There is no time frame on insurance tests. Postpone until you are clean. If you have to do without insurance for another month, it won't be that big of a deal. You have done without it up until now.

Nicotine isn't an issue for me because I don't smoke, quit that in my early 20's (I was born in '60, I started toking when you bought 3 or 4 finger lids if anyone still remembers that). MJ has been my release since college & rarely had gone a day without since then. I've read that if you fail, that info is shared with all the ins companies so not sure its as easy as just finding another carrier.

Anyway, enough justification,you guys have answered most of my questions though I am still a little confused with creatine (is red meat enough or do I have to include a supplement) & salt (should I add this to the gatorade to make sure SG registers properly). The sight is great, but lots & lots of info & found it tough to get back to find some of the threads I read during all my research. Really up to me & how dry run goes from here. If I have to, I'll wait till I'm clean, but figure with my size/body mass that will be 45-60 days total

In part I don't want to put it off longer than necessary as I miss the escape after a long day & enjoy just kicking back with a good buzz. Want to get this behind me as I've already rescheduled once.
