| I've heard that dilution doesn't work with GC/MS tests. Is this true? (I hope it isn't) |

| It's not true. Drug tests are not zero tolerance. You have to have a certain concentration of THC metabolites in your urine in order to test positive. The thresholds for EMIT and GC/MS are effectively the same.

| Your Grandmother would show traces of drugs on a multi panel test, anyone would but like Buzzby said you have to consider the threshold/cutoff rate.

| No. They are effectively the same. The numbers are different but the GC/MS is testing for only the one primary THC metabolite. The EMIT and other immunoassay tests are sensitive to 30 (or 31) different THC metabolites, which is why the cutoff number is higher. If you pass an EMIT, you'd pass the GC/MS (but they wouldn't bother). If you fail the EMIT they'll send a sample for GC/MS testing to eliminate a false positive. A 50 ng/ml cutoff on an immunoassay test is equivalent to a 15-20 ng/ml cutoff on a GC/MS. |

| "The EMIT and other immunoassay tests are sensitive to 30 (or 31) different THC metabolites," Do you remember where you found this info? Seriously I would be very interested in reading it if you remember. "the GC/MS is testing for only the one primary THC metabolite" Exactly |

| Buzzby, what you say in your first post in this thread seems contrary to what this site's FAQ says about the GC/MS test. Forgive me if I'm mistaken or confused, but dilution does help with a GC/MS test? Thanks, SLOSuenos |

| http://www.marijuana.com/2b.php3 2.6 Gas Chromatography / Mass Spectrometry: 2nd paragraph. "Abstinence and substitution are the only ways to defeat the GC/MS test. " From what I understand that you said, dilution should work on a GC/MS test also. I have a real stake in this, as my diluted sample is being GC/MS tested today... Thanks again, SloSuenos |
