Well, for pre-employment, I of course, have to partake in a physical, as well provide a urine sample...I smoke constantly, at least 1 gram daily, and that's on a slow day. I'm thinking Sub, does anybody know anyway i can MacGuyver my way through it???

More details please. Is this for a DOT test or non-DOT test?

If for a DOT test, they cannot use the same urine for the drug test that they used for the physical. They also must do the physical before doing the drug test. Just be sure to give them only about 60mL for the physical. That way there is not enough quantity to separate out for the drug test. Then tell them you cannot urinate again so soon. You will have up to 3 hours to produce a sample for the drug test after the physical. Be more than happy to wait in the waiting room while you drink the required quantity of water.

While in the waiting room, try to slip a bottle of Quick Fix 4.0 into your jeans from your coat pocket (without being detected). Be sure to have a hand warmer taped to the side of the container. They won't let you take your jacket into the restroom with you, so you will need to be sly about getting something out of your coat pocket. Maybe get a stick of chewing gum from your pocket, mints, bottled water, etc.

This way, you don't go from the paper gown right into the restroom to give your drug test specimen.

Well, this is my idea. Anyone come up with another?

I have absolutely no clue, I've never gone for either before in my life. I can only assume that I will have to provide a sample big enough for both purposes. This will all be conducted onsite...(airplane manufactuer).

What I was thinking, is right when I show up, start complaining that I urgently have to urinate, before I get to the paper smocks, and suggest that it might be the best appropriate time to provide a sample.....if needed, I pretty confident I can sell it with enough ignorance....

There is a good chance that this is a DOT test considering it is for a airplane manufacturer. (airline mechanics are subject to random tests as well).


No, they won't make you sit in a paper gown for 3 hours. That is the whole point of going to a lounge or waiting room to wait to pee. No, by regulation they must take the urine for the physical first, then do the drug test. If you do get the job, keep in mind the random testing. No notice, you could be tested at any time. They also won't let you take the test using your rules simply because you feign ignorance. That is why the collector must be DOT certified in the regulations, so each and every test is conducted according to regulation and the same as every other DOT test.
