My 'donor' is going to be gone for a week and I have to take random pee tests, so I was wondering if I could freeze the pee just in case I have to test. I've been looking around and somewhere said up to six months, but I just want to be absolutely sure.

Urine keeps for a few hours at room temperature, a week under refrigeration, and a year frozen.

I have a probation appointment next week. At that time, I will have not smoked for 45 days. I would figure this should be good enough to pass if I have to be tested.

Could I freeze a sample for future use and actually pass with it? I have no fear that I would have trouble putting the sample in a condom and substituting on my next visit [approx 2 months from now] because this place just sends you to the bathroom with a cup, they dont come in to check up on you.

Please advise. I was thinking either freeze it or let it evaporate and adding water back to it for the next visit... [but if I let it evaporate, I guess it will not work?]

If you let it evaporate it's likely that it will spoil before it dries, unless you're set up to evaporate it quickly under a vacuum. Freezing is probably your best bet.

So I assume you can just freeze it in a airtight container, then when your day comes up, just warm it up in the microwave on a low power? Or just sit it at room temp? How effective is this method provided the sample is clean? Thanks bunches.

* I dont mind quitting 40 or so days before my appointments to be safe, but if this is a pretty sure bet, might as well give it a shot...

Somewhere said not to microwave urine because it crystalizes or something, but then they said just to filter the crystals with a coffee filter. Could I just freeze the pee when its in the balloon, that seems pretty air tight, or..what? tupperwear? ha ha

what I'd like to know is about how long i need to microwave pee to get it at the normal temperature from the refrigerators, I know you can microwave it, and they can't tell, cause I've seen it done. But they can tell if the temperature isn't right, so any advice? Thanks. I don't deserve to go to jail

Yes, they can tell whether the temperature is correct or not. Please stop reviving old threads. Get yourself a thermometer and test it out to see how long your microwave takes to hear your specimen
