I know some of you might think that this question is laaame, but I'm pretty worried.. I got into some big time legal trouble and along with all the other bullshit I'm going through, I got an MIP. Minor in Possession. Has anyone ever had one? I'm sure that I'll be on probation and have to do pee tests for my other offenses, but I'm just not sure about the MIP.

Basically, does anyone know if urine tests are required if you recieve an MIP?

When did this incident occur? You are reportedly 19 years old. What makes you a minor?

I do know this part of the forum is supposed to be for talking about marijuana only and the only suggestion this site gives to people on probation is to stop taking drugs and pay your time. On top of that they NEVER want anyone helping a minor avoid a test.

The reason it is advised to abstain from using pot for people on probation is that they are in enough legal quicksand as it is. We are only advising that probationers not add to their problems. It has less to do with them NOT smoking as it has to do with solving their current problems without adding to them.
It isn't that we don't want to help a minor AVOID a test. We don't want to help minors decieve their parents. That can contribute to eroding the parent/child relationship. Kids should be honest with and honor their parents wishes. Once children move from the parental home and start supporting themselves both financially and emotionally, then they can make their own rules.

Very well put Sec. Personally, if I would have to quit smoking, I would rather do it at home than in jail. Also minors have enough to worry about and make life altering decisions these days. Weed is like alcohol in a way I think you should be older and more responsible before you make that decision.
