Hey all, I had a question regarding Spectrum Labs Quick fix.
First off, does it work and second what is the shelf life of quick fix 4.0.
I have a county drug test coming up and I need to know if the kit I have is still good. I purchased it at the end of last year

I work out about 3 times a week
I'm a chronic smoker and usually smoke everyday.

Everyone here says it works. I cant seem to find anyone who said they failed using it. I just used it today. I will post back on this thread by end of day friday and let you know. From what ive heard as long as you get the temp right you are good to go. As far as the shelf life its supposed to be one year. So yours SHOULD be good. If I were you, I would just bite the 30 bucks and buy a new one. You have plenty of time and dont need the fast shipping price.

The shelf life is a mystery to me. I'm not really sure when the product was made. There is no date on the box and I'm not sure how to read the bar code numbers.
I might just buy another one to be safe.

Thanks Hawg, My box has no such stamp.
The only thing on the box that might indicate a date is contained in the bar code.
I'll call spectrum labs.

Just talked to Spectrum Labs.
Shelf life of this product is 18 to 24 months.
Product will sometimes break down after 48 hours if opened in a contaminated dirty area and bacteria is allowed to enter the bottle.
Signs of degredation are thickening of the solution and or color change.

Found it,
My QF was made in OCT. 2005, got plenty of time.
What made me wonder was when I opened the bottle there were crystals forming on the top edge of the bottle.
According to Spectrum Labs this is not a sign of thickening due to degradation, just the solution drying.
Light will shorten the shelf life of QF 4.0 also so everyone please... DON'T store it on your dashboard!
If people question the integrity of their QF 4.0 there is an 800 # located on the Spectrum Labs web site one may call, give them the batch number and they will tell you when it was produced. You can call the 877# on the box but that might be a toll number.
