Hi. A relative of mine has a connection at Linens and Things and he tried to set me up with a job. A woman the other day from the company about a opening they have for a clerical summer job. She asked if I could come in for an interview on this Wednesday. She said nothing about a drug test. Does anyone know if it is common practice (or practiced at all) to surprise somebody with a drug test when they come in for an interview. I am wrestling with the idea of ordering quick fix and having some ready just to be safe, but I really don't fancy the idea of sitting down for an hour interview with a bottle of fake piss in my underwear. Has anyone had any experiences that could help me out? Any comments would be appreciated.

A lot of people get surprised with a drug test, but usually not by the trickery of the company. Some even "study" for the wrong type of drug test. Ask your relative if they test. That would be the best way to get "first hand" knowledge. There isn't much sense in sitting with a "bottle of fake piss" between your legs, to find out it is a saliva, blood, or hair test.
