Please Help!

My boyfriend is waiting for a union welding job which he knows he will be drug tested for but not sure when. He hasn't smoked in several months to be sure that he will past the drug test. However, he and I were wondering if eating it in the form of a cookie has the same effects on your body? Does it stay in your system for the same amount of time that it would by smoking it?
