I would appreciate opinion on my readiness to pass the THC portion of a life insurance exam on urine sample (and does anyone know if LI exams are more forgiving than employment exams?). I am a daily smoker, but usually no more than one bowl of high-grade, like one solid hit a day basically. My LI exam is schedule for May 26. I will be 12 days clean. I work out at a low-intensity about an hour a day. I am 37, 235-lbs, and 6'4". I would like to avoid the dilution and much of the other advice posted since I have blood chemistries that day as well and the diet needs to be clean until the exam. Thanks for your input.

It is unclear whether all Life Insurance policies require a drug test. That would be the first order of the day. Find out exactly what your Life Insurance company requires from a pre-policy physical. It is entirely reasonable to ask for a list of things checked for in a test for an insurance company.

You could be clean, then again, you don't really want to dilute because of other tests being conducted (i.e. glucose levels, kidney problems, etc.). Call the company and get more info.

Thanks for your feedback. You would think so. Boy did they jerk me around. All I got was a list of questions the examiner would be asking me, including use of pot, heroin, etc in last ten years. It seems that they avoided satisfying my request for the list so I backed off. I don't trust anyone in a policy-writing position. I'll just have to wait and see.

Perhaps at leats taking aspirin will help since I am not inclined to dilute or sub?

Also, at least drink plenty of fluids, just not too much. I think you can be ok if you just drink sports drinks, eat red meat for several meals before your test and take the aspirin. Not too hard, just lay around for a couple of days, drink sports drinks, watch tv and eat steaks.
