First, does anyone know if aspirin still works as a mask in EMIT tests? Or have they found a way around this trick?

Second, like lots of posters here, I would like some advice on situation:

I am a 170lb, 6'1" male, with an average metabolism if I had to guess. By the time of my EMIT test, I won't have smoked for 26 days. Before that, I was a once-a-day smoker. I have been exercising occasionally over the last couple weeks (two 2.5-mile runs per week), and have been eating a low-fat diet. Drinking cranberry juice for any anti-oxidant effect it may have (and just cause I like it).

I'm just at the one-week to go mark. I am stopping exercising and will begin a normal/fatty diet. I will also begin creatine loading 5 days prior to the test. I will do a home test 5 days and 2 days prior to test.

I plan to dilute on the day of the test, using Gatorade with salt (approx. 20oz/hour for 4 hours prior to test). I will take 4x325mg Bayer aspirins 2.5 hours prior, and another 3 aspirins 45 minutes prior. I will crush up a time-release B-complex vitamin (containing 5,882% B-2) 2 hours prior to the test. I will also take Tums (750mg calcium carbonate) prior to test.

I would like any advice on this regimen. None of the above is set in stone. Specifically, I am not sure if I am taking the right amount of aspirin and at the right time. Also, I don't know how many Tums to take.

It sounds like you have a plan. I can't tell you how pleased I am to see someone actually read and learn what to do before their test. The preparations you have made say a lot about how self-sufficient you are.

A couple of things:
Be careful about taking too much salt. I have seen where people have vomited from too much salt. A teaspoon is more than plenty.

You probably by now know that drinking cranberrry juice and excessive fluids days or weeks before your test does not help you to pass the test. If you are drinking fluids (cranberry juice included) because you are excercising and/or just like the juice, then more power to you.

I also am not sure that with the amount of time you have abstained, all that aspirin is necessary. It can't hurt anything but your stomach, but I don't think it is all that necessary.

Another concern also came to mind: When I take my B-Complex vitamin, my urine changes from a normal yellow to a brighter, neon-ish yellow. I am afraid this will signal to the testers that I am trying to cheat.

Is there something else I can take for a more natural yellow? What about vitamin B-2 pills instead of the whole B-Complex?

Is this even a real concern or am I just being paranoid? Has anyone ever had problems because their urine wasn't its natural color, even though it was "yellow"? Solutions? Thanks.

I just took a test for the Govt. Hadn't smoked in 51 days. And I diluted a little (with Powerade) but not much at all. I also take multi-vitamins every day -- which always turns my urine a neon yellow. The nurse was extremely pleasant and didn't say a word when I gave her my sample. Even before I ever smoked, if I took my multi-vitamin, it would be neon yellow. I don't think that will "tip" them off -- and all they can do is run the first test anyway. They won't flag it automatically just because it has a neon yellow color (but has correct temp). They'll run the presumptive test (EMIT) and see where to go from there -- negative, nothing; positive, confirmatory GCMS.
Also, I know there's some kind of EMIT test (maybe EMIT II -- not sure) that is supposed to not be affected by Aspirin (according to a Govt. website; but then again, they're giving biased info). The RIA test won't be affected by aspirin, but it can't test for cocaine so is not the standard DOT 5-panel test.
Panel, correct me if I'm wrong on this. But it sounds to me from ALL of the reading and rereading I've done of all of the posts, you'll be good. Just make sure you test yourself at least twice using first morning's void a couple days before the test, maybe the day before the test and even the day of the test just to make sure. Good luck. Oh, and if you want to be really sure, get different tests: First Check, At Home are the two I used (one from Walgreens and one from Targetor CVS). That way if you get two negatives, you won't worry that the brand of test is inaccurate. Again, Good luck!

Great... anyone else have additional comments? I don't really know the difference between EMIT and EMITII -- could the latter be immune to the aspirin technique, so to speak?

Thank you, Sec3!! That means A LOT coming from you! Again, I'm a newbie, so I know I don't know too much, but I just try to pass on what I've read and my experience and am certainly open to corrections as I don't want to pass on any false or wrong info.

Got a new question... the form I have to take to LabCorp calls for three things:

5 Panel
PSC Collection
3 Party Collection

I wanted to see if anyone could decipher this for me... it occured to me that I don't know for sure I'm being given a piss test and not a hair test or blood test or something. That would suck, so please help. Thanks.

5 panel means they will be testing for 5 different banned substances including THC.

PSC Collection - I have no idea what this means, but its probably is nothing significant. Although it could mean hair or saliva just as easily as it could mean a urine test
3 party collection means you arent going to a LabCorp Laboratory to have your urine collection, you will be going to an independent collection facility affiliated with LabCorp.
