Last smoked 4/23/06,8 days later went to test.I diluted,qcarbo and asprin,
arrived at lab after the company thay was hiring me had closed.The lab tried to call but no answer,this was after I signed in and filled out the forms. They said
they did not know whay test to give and offered to give me all of them or come back.I said I would have the company contact them and let the lab know which one.The lab retuned the forms to me and I left. No one at my employer has asked why they have had no results faxed to them. I may slipprd through the cracks. I have not smoked and am planning not to for great while. Any lab techs that can help? Thanks

The company probably thinks you didn't show up. The "lab" or "Collection Facility" wouldn't bother to call the employer when you said you would do it. Are you working? Did the company call you?

Technically, if you leave a collection site after filling the forms and starting the collection process, you are considered to have refused to test.

What should have happened, is the collector should have collected a split specimen and held it until the next day when they could have contacted the employer.

Thanks Sec3,Yes I've just completed my third full week, the only info the lab has is my name is on the sign in sheet. All other forms were returned to me so I would not have to fill them ouy again on my return. I'm wondering if they ask if I took the test I can say yes, the lab must have lost them. I'll then volunteer to go retake the test. I'm 6'1" 230 lbs. moderate metabolism, was a frequemt but light smoker. Sunday will be 28 days without, I think another week or so I'll test clean. Health insurance kicks in after 90 days, that may be the next time my file is reviewed.

Don't say yes, the lab lost it, because they can ask for your copy of the form or the collection facilities copy of the form, or the MRO copy of the form, or even the employers copy of the form. You should have a 4 or 5 part form with you. Each of those mentioned above gets a copy and the original copy goes with the specimen to the lab. If the lab lost the specimen and their copy of the form, there are still plenty to prove the collection either took place or did not take place.
Call the company (employer) and ask when are you supposed to take the test. Tell them you have been keeping the paperwork all this time and the collection facility sent you away telling you that the employer would contact them and contact you when they wanted you to take the test. Tell them you haven't heard from them (the employer) about the test and were beginning to become concerned.
Act all innocent and like you didn't really understand that you were supposed to make the appointment with the collection facility and arrange all the details when you were told that the employer would do it.

If I were you, that's what I would do. Acting dumb is better than getting caught with a positive result.
