I took a pre-employment test on Monday at 11:00 a.m. (although they marked "random" on the sheet probably because I actually started my work day at 9:30.) They send it out to a lab. It was for the govt in D.C. and a standard 5 panel DOT test (NIDA) It's now Thursday evening and I've not heard a thing. I'm certain by this point that if it's negative, they won't say anything (as I've been working, processed in, fingerprinted, everything). So I'm just kind of wondering when I get to finally exhale (it had been 51 days since smoking and I only did a tiny bit of dilution -- about 40 ounces powerade 41/2 hours before the test with aspirin but then no more liquid from 7:00 a.m. 'til 10:00 a.m. at which time I consumed about 16 ounces of Propel Fitness water an hour before the test -- had already voided about three times during the three hours between the Powerade and the Propel water -- was getting processed in so didn't want to drink a bunch especially since I hadn't smoked for so long and had passed three home tests. Also took rolaids test day and creatine for a few days leading up to the test). Anyway, so I've been working and just want to know when I can really finally relax. Thanks!!

They made an error when marking the sheet "random" instead of "Pre-employment", but that is a very minor, correctable error. Really it doesn't even need to be corrected because it doesn't make a bit of difference on how your test was conducted or will be processed. Always a good rule of thumb to wait at least 7 full days. It sometimes takes that long to get through the lab if there was a problem with your test. I'm not saying there WAS a problem with YOUR test, I'm just saying that is a good timeline to use. - 1 week, then relax. (well relax, just don't smoke).

Thanks for the quick reply. My smoking days are over as long as I keep this job. I'll wait 'til mid-next week before I really relax about it. thanks again!
