Hey guys, I am going through a lot of brain trama worrying about an upcoming drug test. I went in for an interview last week and got a call back yesterday with a job offer, with the condition I pass a drug screen. From July of last year through April 24th of this year, I've been smoking very much(serveral times daily). I stopped smoking until about 12 days ago where I smoked around 7 grams of some really good bud.

After I got this call yesterday, I decided to go and get a self test. I purchased an At Home drug test from Walgreens. I purposely drank no water and just took the test. I wanted to see how I stood without any dillution. I am going to upload a picture of the result on this thread. If you look at it you will see a VERY faint band on the test section. The booklet that came with the test says that if there are 2 bands there at ANY intensity then you are negative.

If that is true then I technically passed, if even by the skn of my teeth. Now, the actual test is going to be taken this friday at a hospital. I was told my the HR manager that she will get the results that afternoon if I take it in the morning. So, it is not sent to any lab but maybe they have a lab there too.

So basically, I am trying to gather others' opinions on this. I'm very curious on whether or not these same results would be considered positive or negative by a lab. With dillution I pretty confident I can get it down to accepted levels of the metabolites but what do you all think? Please put my mind at ease!

A line is a line, which is Negative. Read the dillution method and do what it says only with sports drinks instead of water, and start creatine loading now and you should be good to go.

I always hear that a line is a line, no matter how faint, but who is the final judge? Those lines can be really faint sometimes.

I took that exact test you did and also got a negative result (moderate smoker, quit a week ago) so I went to eckerd and got a different kind of test to see if it also tested negative (it did) Trying more than one brand of test might give you some peace of mind, as it did me.

I used the exact same test as well (with my first void of the day). My results were similar to yours. There was a very faint treatment line. I think that you should be fine...just slightly dilute (gatorade, aspirin, etc.) dont over do it, because you're really close to passing on your own.

A person in my position would be the final judge. Some employers allow for a test which screens non-negative (without a line on an instant test), to be sent to a lab for confirmation, however if the employer doesn't allow it, then I am the judge. IF I cannot photocopy it, it isn't there.

(BTW) as faint as your is, it still would show on a photocopier. = negative.

I got anxy and last night I bought another test of a different brand. I used the dillution method and I passed this test with a MUCH more visible line. I was excited and didn't want to wait another day of agony so I took the test today instead of tomorrow. This clinic was very interesting because they took a sample, made me watch them seal it and put it in a plastic bag. She also had a little dip test that she used on the remainder that didn't go into the sealed container. No more than 30 minutes after I left the place, I received a call from the job and they said I passed! I don't know what they did with the seal container unless they just use it to in case the dip test is inconclusive. But anyways, I just wanted to let you guys know that I passed and thanks for reading this!

This place is too cheap to purchase split instant cups. They put the specimen into the vial for shipping to the lab in the event of a non-negative screening. If they would spend the extra $.50 per test, they would not have to split the specimen before testing with a dip type of test. The reason for splitting the specimen is so the part that is sent to the lab is uncontaminated by the instant dip test. IF the dip test is negative, the throw the entire thing away and report a negative to the employer. If the dip is non-negative (no line in the test area), then they have the specimen already in the vial for shipping to the lab.
