i think i posted a thread in a wrong spot before so here it is:

i am 22 years old 6'5 230 lbs...i have only smoked like 5 times in my entire life, but on may 21 i smoked and on may 23 i smoked...the second time i didnt get too high cuz i only puffed once...but here is it march 31st and i have a drug test tomorrow at 9:30...i've drank a half gallon of water already and i plan on finishing that tonight, as well as going on a run and getting some exercise...i'm not a chronic smoker, but i'm a bit scared that doing that these two times will screw me up...keep in mind it's been 8 days, then 9(tomorrow) since i had last smoked...i'm in a bit of a bind....are the chances for or against me? and if i have a chance, what should i do?

I'd say your greatest problem at this point is the possibility of over-dilution. If you drink a lot of water without doing anything to prop up specific gravity and creatinine levels you're likely to end up with a "negative dilute" result.

Dilution is a balancing act, you want to dilute enough to bring down your THC metabolite concentration without diluting so much that you throw specific gravity and creatinine out of normal ranges.

It is not advisable to exercise the last few days before a drug test. THC metabolites are stored in body fat. When you burn fat it releases them into the bloodstream. If you don't give them time to clear your system it could raise the concentration of THC metabolites in your urine.

The only way to know when you're clean enough to pass a test is to test yourself at home. You can get THC tests at drugstores for $15 - $20 each. You can get them in batches of 10 from sellers on eBay for $2 each. If you pass a home test with the first part of the first pee of the day, you're home free.

If not, try a dilution protocol and test again. If you can't pass with a dilution technique you'll have to go to substitution.

thanks for all the help....i appreciate it...however, when i got to the job, they had me take a saliva test...now from what i'm reading it's usually only noticable after 3-4 days with a saliva test...but i'm not sure, any suggestions? for me it has been about 9 days since I smoked, and I did all the supposed "tricks" with over a gallon of water yesterday, and some niacin...i've taken the test and tried even not to saturate the strip as much by not keeping it under my tongue, but i'm not sure, i guess i'll find out soon enough, but any advice you have will be great

well here it is monday...they called me in and told me I had to meet with the HR manager because he was out of town the past week...I nonchalantly asked if she had contacted my references...she informed me that she had left messages with the references and she was still waiting on the background check and everything else, including that dreaded test...so I'm going to go in tomorrow to meet with the manager @ 2, and hopefully by then they'll have the results...although I would prefer to hear the results over the phone as opposed to in person...

After reading the countless number of posts here, most people have passed, and like I said before it had been 9 days since I took that test...I rarely smoke and probably have like 5 times in my life. It just seems every time I do something comes up a week after! :-( I didn't do any unordinary cleaning of my teeth, as in excess flossing or mouthwashing, but I brush at least 2 times a day and I have the occassional breath mint. I took the at home urine test and passed for THC, so I feel pretty confident, but I'm still here, maybe making a mountain out of a mole hill - I'll fill you guys in with the results and I will definitely take the poll when I get the results - I hope you guys are right
