Hey there I need some help I am freaking out! I just took a pee test and used someone elses urine for a pre employment screening. She peed the night before at around 10pm my boyfriend left it out for 5 hrs not knowing to refrigerate it! I put it in the fridge where it sat for 9 hours. I MICROWAVED IT! DId I royally f&** up? I mean the time until I used and the microwaving? OH MY GOD I am freaking out! The temp was right and she was totally clean but the testing place sends it somewhere else to a lab! It is only for pre employment are they going to test it that much? HEEEEEEEEEEEEELP I AM GOING TO GIVE MYSELF AN ANURIM BEFORE I EVEN FIND OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First, stop freaking out. Sweet Jesus, I feel stressed out just reading your post.

As you probably have read many times over by now, practice is key. Trying out your method for the first time at the drug testing facility is asking for disaster. Fortunately for you, the temp was good and the sample was clean.

Here's the thing, as long as it doesn't smell like old piss to you, you are probably ok. The lab testers aren't going to know that you microwaved the piss, but they might know if it was too old. 5 hours is verging on the limit you should keep it out, because piss starts to turn bad after it is siting out for a while. It turns cloudy as it oxydizes and the sample looks old. If your piss didn't look or smell old, then you are probably ok.

However, here's your plan B: If the sample does come back with someone saying it was substituted or too old, then politely protest and ask what the possibility is that they left the piss sitting out on their counter for so long? They will inevitably tell you of their handling practices, but insisit on providing a second sample. When you go to re-screen, don't fuck it up again. And don't think up some story about why the piss might be old or something, other than they must have left it out too long, because I'm sure they've heard it all.

Remember to be polite and not raise hell, because as the old saying goes, you get more bees with honey than vinegar (or something like that). Go in there and be an ass, they will be less than cooperative. Depending on what state you live in, the drug screeners will report to your prospective employer if you have been an ass.

You do realize that urine sits at the collection facility all day (unrefrigerated) until the delivery service picks it up, takes it to the airport, it flies all over the country to a laboratory, then sits in the receiving department until mid morning when someone picks it up to test it. All UNREFRIGERATED!

Yeah I passed no more freak outs THank you so much for calming my already crazy nerves! I learned one lesson! Read the boards for questions and answers BEFORE you test not after! I guess I am lucky it was a drug test not an I.Q. test!
