hi - I thought I'd share a recent pre-employment test experience that I had that is seemingly unbeatable. after being offered a job with a company, I was notified that a pre-employment drug test was required. fortunately, I already had a good job and was able to stall long enough to clean up my once-a-day habit for two weeks. in the meantime, I scoured the forums on this site to familiarize myself with the different testing scenarios that I could encounter and decided that I would substitute to avoid any problems with dilution. once I finally conditionally accepted the job offer, I learned that I would also have to take a full physical - so substitution was out of the question. to my suprise, I also learned that I would be required to fast for 12 hours prior to the test....I was told no food, no water, no vitamins. they told me that I had to fast because there was blood work involved to ensure that I hadn't been previously exposed to toxins or contaminants for liability purposes and that any food, etc. would skew the blood test and would require another physical. so, dilution also seemed like an impossibility.....and from what I've gathered, urinating without any food or water in your system leads to dirtier results because the urine would contain concentrated levels of broken down fat cells. before the test, I called the employed and told them that I changed my mind and declined their offer. I wasn't willing to play their game - particularly since they would also be requiring annual physicals using the same procedure. I didn't feel that any job was worth going through the 'test stress' every year. I hadn't read any other accounts on this forum from people who were required to fast before their physical and test....and it seems like a system that is fool proof against the dilution and substituion techniques. I'm skeptical about their reason for fasting, too....I suspect that it was put in place to safeguard against cheating marijuana junkies like us who can't be trusted with a job, like say, an alcoholic could be. sad. good luck.

The fasting is legitimate. It is to be able to get an accurate blood-glucose reading for a diabetes test. All you had to do is ask either the HR for the company to which you applied or call any medical facility and they would have told you the reasons for the fasting. Everyone can beat a drug test simply by turning down all the job offers they receive where they are required to submit to a drug test. If you had taken a home test, you MIGHT have been able to pass a drug test without using a dilution method. SOME people can pass after 2 weeks. Sooo long story short, you just gave up without even trying.

Perhaps I am wrong, but I've never heard of fasting including not drinking of water. Im pretty sure that you might have got that part mixed up, no doctor would tell you not to drink water for more than a few hours, 12 hours seems like a stretch, a liability issue, and definately a saftey concern. If you only smoked once a day, and you cleaned up for 2 weeks, there was probably a pretty good chance that you would pass. If it was a good job, I'd quit for 1 month out of the year to take that sort of physical, plus breaks like that always reduce your tolerance so it ends up helping your stoner life too.
