Keep the contacts you have now. Network with them and inquire as to whether they are hiring. Tell them if they ask that you are looking for a change, something more challenging. Most of all, don't let this get you down. It is a full time job looking for work. Work at it at least 8 hours a day whether you are sharpening your resume or going to workshops or interviewing. When you need a boost of encouragement, come back here and we'll give it to you.

Really sorry to hear about your trouble, but sounds like your company is giving you a break. You'll be fine for your test in 14 days, especially since you'll be clean for 46. In the meantime, exercise, eat a fiber-rich diet, and read this board for other tips on expediting THC from your system.

It pains me to see some of the posters to this board beat themselves up for failing a drug test. I came up with two neg-dilutes last summer, and lost a job offer. (I have a chance to reapply and am abstaining, giving myself plenty of time to clean out and pass el natural). The DT industry is just a racket to make money. I'm sick and tired of seeing cannibus users being demonized. I'm a great employee, and wish I had a dime for every day I was on my post while my co-workers were out sick with hangovers or lashing out at each other with the DTs.

I don't have a problem, I smoke on my own time, I'm not out clobbering people over the head to buy smoke, and I'm not a sociopath. Quit beating yourself up. My dad always had one shot and one beer after a hard day at work and I see no difference between a few hits and or a couple of cocktails to relax and de-stress. Frankly, I think companies that instill these facist drug-testing policies are the ones who should be ashamed of themselves.

The CEO of the company that I got turned down for last year was busted for embezzling millions of dollars from the company shareholders, and I bet he passed his drug test. I want the government and corporate America out of my home, my life and my pants, but it's reality so we have to live with it.

Jeez, I read further and heard you were terminated. Sometimes, things happen for a reason. There is a better job out there for you.

Just use your boss as a reference. Some excellent job searching books that have helped me are Robin Ryan's "Winning Resumes," "Winning Cover Letters" and "Winning Interviews." She also has a web site, robinryan.com.

There are numerous ways to explain a termination. You might say (and this sounds like the truth in your situation), that your company went through a reorganization and your position was eliminated.

I really empathize with you. I'm about your age and female, and have been in the same situation.
