Ive read conflicting reports on what diet to follow days before the test been abstained for 29dys 155lbs 5'8" fast metabolisim heavy smoker 1/4 a week midgrade. test is tommorow been passing the home test with a faint line. But I want to be extra sure no option of failure for this UA. Ive not been exersising the past week and been laying around for the past 2 days eatting fatty foods. Is this the right thing to do or not? I semi confident but totally paronid. Will test tomorrow morning first void. Any suggestions?

Exercising up until the last few days of the test is correct, as well as eating fatty foods the last few days. Several people in the last few days have had questions about faint lines. Do a search to find them as Sec3 has given good advice to these people. Basically, a line is a line. You may want to increase your water consumtion slightly the day of the test to dilute slightly but not enough to void the test. | |

quote" 8. Diet. Any type of ruffage type food is good during the days leading up to and including the day of the test; eating fatty foods and laying around is probably the worst thing for you at this point. Instead, try to eat fiber, low fat foods; good choices are eggs, peanuts, bran, low fat turkey, chicken, salads, fruits and vegetables, cranberry and other fruit juices, wheats, liver, soy, proteins. Things to avoid include greasy foods, high carbohydrate type foods, white breads, high sugar foods, candy, chocolate, and the like. Sure this seems more like a weight loss diet, but the goal here is to consume foods that will force your body to break down fat reserves and turn them over into new cells, thereby removing the THC metabolites that collect in the lipid tissue. Fiber, for instance, causes more fat cells to be excreted through the feces; cranberry juice helps to excrete more toxins into the urine stream. There are many ways to clean out quickly, but these are tried and true methods. Combining this with a good exercise regimen, you are arming yourself with two very important factors to a slower detox time; and since so many of you are on short notice detox programs, it is always good to do everything possible to acheive that goal." That was from Melanotaneias post every other post ive read as far as diet says to eat fatty foods. Im getting hungry and trying to decide what to get test is in less then 18hrs. thanks for your replies.

I have seen people answer this both ways but more people seem to say high fat/low fiber in the last few days (5 days or less?). These same people who say high fat in the last few days tend to say go low fat/low calorie/high fiber before the switch to high fat. It seems that the goal is to burn off the THC and release it from the body but in the last few days store it in your fat cells that way there are fewer metabolites excreted in the urine. This probably means you will test longer but on the day of the test it is like you are trying to put the release of THC metabolites into your urine "on hold." Read in the dilution sticky for several pages and you will see that more people say high fat the last few days. I didn't count or anything but...... One thing I would like to look up is whether these people that are saying high fat diet also want you to eat a high calorie diet. I don't think they do because high calorie diets sometimes speed up metabolism. So if I were you, I would look at that too because I think they are saying get your calories from fat as much as possbile but don't go over your normal caloric intake.

This is from erowid.org. It is a little old but this is a sound info source and I believe things from it have been quoted in other threads on MJ.com. Here is what it says about exercise and diet leading up to the whiz quiz. 6.8 Exercise: Athletes have a big advantage over normal civilians. When fat is burned, THC byproducts are released into the blood. This is the only way to get THC metabolites out of lipid tissue. "Normal living will burn them slowly, as your fat reserves get turned over" (Dr. Grow). Due to an athletes high metabolic rate, THC moves through an athletes system significantly faster. Exercising between drug tests will clean THC metabolites from the system at a faster rate, thus lowering the detection period. It is important to stop burning fat cells near test time. On test day, it doesn't matter what's in your lipid tissue. What's in your blood and urine does matter. Exercise increases the amount of THC metabolites in the urine; so quit exercising a week before the test. Be lazy, and eat big. This will put the body in an anabolic fat-storing stage. At this point, the "buried" THC metabolites won't escape and go the the urine. There are drugs that will increase metabolism the way exercise does, but these are the same drugs that they are usually testing for. Exercise should only be considered when the subject knows that he or she will not be given a pop quiz in the near future.
