| Okay, I got my paperwork to fill out for my pre-employment screenings. The drust test part says: Rapid Drug Test (what kind of test is this?). Also, I noticed on the paper that it said that they will be checking my UA for Alb. (not sure what that is, anyone know?), Spec. Gravity (I'm assuming the specific gravity I keep hearing mentioned) and Glucose. And ANOTHER problem is that I was planning on being able to schedule my test for the afternoon, but they only do it at 8:45am, and I am supposed to fast (for the blood tests). Can I still do the dilution method if I am supposed to fast? Would they be able to tell w/ my blood work that I didn't? One more question, and I hope ya'll aren't mad, but I guess everyone has questions, (so please let me apologize!). Which dilution method should I use, I have been reading both (N2 and S2). I will be 26days clean. Was a light-moderate smoker, and I am 5'3, 120lbs. (Which I mentioned in a previous post). I do plan on home testing myself the day or two before my actual test. Any help is GREATLY appreciated!! |

| Alb is albumin, which has nothing to do with drug testing but instead is a screen to see ig you have any kidney disease causing you to leak protein into your urine. Tha fasting is important so your cholesterol panel can be measured accurately. None of the steps in dilution would affect this, so you can still dilute, just don't eat anything befoer the test (or drink fatty milk or cream in coffee). If you're pounding gatorade for dilution, there's a small chance your "fasting" bloodsugar wlll be above 126 mg/dl, which is the fasting cutoff for diabetes, but this is unlikely given your young age.

| A rapid drug test is an instant test. Much like, or exactly like the tests you use at home. Some have integrity checks for specific gravity, Ph and Oxidants using a color chart. You can dilute heavily with an instant test, but just like the laboratory tests, you can go overboard with the dilution. If you screen negative, then you will know right away. If your instant test screens non-negative, (anything other than a flat out negative), then they should send the specimen into a lab for confirmation. Some employers do not do this and if you screen non-negative with an instant test, that is it. finished. final. this happens (I guess) about 5%-10% of the time. |
