I read somewhere here in these forums that a person was patted down around the crotch area by the tester to check if he was sneaking anything in. Can they legally do that?

Not for employment testing. Court mandated testing is a different ball game all together.

You may have read one of my posts. Last year, I had a pre-employ drug test and physical. I peed, then was sent into an exam room to wait for the doctor. Although the physical was described to me as "non-invasive," meaning no blood tests or anything with a needle, the doctor did stick his hand down my underwear to feel my pubic region, to check for what I don't know. In hindsight, perhaps he was checking to see if I was wearing double or triple underpants, a bottle stashed up my vagina, etc. Ten years ago, I had a pre-employ physical and drug test (which I passed after being clean 42 days). The physical came first, blood, EKG, eye exam, etc. This was on sight at the corporation, which had over 2K employees and its own on-site health services. Every place is different, I suppose.

You're preaching to the choir. I do think the guy was a perv. I think I referred to him in earlier posts as "a perv."

| Yup -- the guy was a "perv" But you are up against the great catch 22 of society -- if you had reported the doctor, how woul he have retaliated? And we are so trained in our society to "let the doctor examine you" that often we don't realize soemthing was a little "funky" about that breast exam or that pelvic until AFTER the fact. Been there -- had the experience -- HATED the paper gown Best that can come from it is learn from the experience. Just an FYI -- whenever you are with a physician of the opposite sex, you should have a same sex "nurse" or other person with you. Sometimes it helps to have a friend along -- just to make sure your proverbial assets are covered ![]() ...have a cookie and know you ain't alone sistah ![]() | |
