First I want to thank everyone who gave me info and advice.

Took a real test to day. at 20ng. I passed!!! after 22 days of not smoking, on top of many years of the chronic, every day, many times a day. I did a dilution, Gatorade , aspirin. The pecker checker watching, told me twice ( as he looked on, I hope he loves his job), "Top of the stream not mid-stream". so I did. After he did his checks on it, and passed, he had me dump it, I asked if I could keep it since it was a good one and I wanted to use it again, He didn't think it was funny, I guess checking pee and looking at dicks all day , you lose your sense of humor.

I'm In my 40s, very active, 5'10 160

not to be too nosey, but i noticed you test was for 20 ng and was supervised. this obviously wasnt a pre-employment test was it?

I don't think I have lost my sense of humor .... yet.

I have a feeling that this was either a court mandated test or a pre-employment for a government job.

BTW: my smileys quit working tonight. I don't know why, maybe I DID lose my sense of humor after all if I cant use a smiley.

It was a fallow up on a random that went wrong, horrible wrong, If I get my job back, that's if, I will have some "meat gazer" looking over my back for the next few years every time I pee for them.

I didn't know that employment-related randoms were observed. Sounds like your rights were violated, to me. I know a lot of guys in the union trades. I know that IBEW and NECA tout "drug free electricians." I've talked to sparkies who said that as long as you show up on time, don't wire a house so it burns down, etc., in other words, don't give the Man cause to random test you, you're okay. Just keep your nose clean on your job, and maybe they'll let up on you. Or maybe it's time to find a new job. Anyway, hope you get your job back and that it goes well for you til you can line something else up. I know that some unions give people the chance to voluntarily test to get a two-year, drug-free card, after which they go back to their wild, wicked ways. All the guys I know DO NOT smoke on the job, just during their free time which is the way it should be.

That's one problem with random testing, It won't say when you did it, just that you did to it. One joint on the first day of your vacation in theory, can show up a week after your home and back to work. I have no to the union to talk to, company contract calls for a drug free working environment , meaning no drugs any where any time.( except for alcohol, go figure, oh yeah that's legal ) It more along the lines when they ask, "do you do drugs? I say, no, they say prove it,....". Yeah, a new job would be nice, you know where I can get one bring in a 100 K?

If you're making $100K sounds like you have a skill set. There's a marvelous invention called careerbuilder.com, for starters. I lay low on any job I work at. I don't advertise my personal life. I do so not fit the "profile" of a toker (as I have since high school) that I'm pretty much the last person they suspect. If you want to live with this, that's your biz. But pretty much everyone I've talked too, no matter what field, don't give your employer a reason to conduct a random. That's usually when randoms are ordered.

I've been at it for a long time, I don't, or act the part either. but, it's the luck of the draw. that's why it's called Random. But life will go on. I can retire in not to many years from now, work a little harder and maybe I little sooner.
