| Hi there...So I took my test at a Labcorp location on Friday July 7th. This was a pre-employment urine test for a corporate job. I still haven't heard back from the company, and I'm pretty sure this company would not notify me if I passed, so hopefully "No news is good news." I also asked the tech how long the process would take, and he said "3 business days". Anyways, I have a few questions about my chain of custody form that I couldn't find answers to on the discussion board. 1) The custody form does not have an MRO on it. Does this mean that there is no MRO review? What are the implications of this as far as it being easier or harder to pass a test? Is it easier to question the results if they come up as positive? 2) The courier that the tech wrote on the test is "LCA" which stands for LabCorp of America. Does this mean that the specimen was not shipped to an offsite location? Should results come in quicker due to this? 3) I couldn't find any indication as far as what type of urine test (e.g., cutoffs, 5-panel, 10-panel, etc) on the form. The only code I can find is something that says OTS-SAM 3000. "SAM" may not be correct. The printout isn't very clear. It may be "SAW" or "SAN". I know OTS stands for Occupational Testing Services. Is there any indication from this about the type of test they would give (i.e., cutoffs)? 4) The company requested that I bring in the Chain of Custody form with me on my first day of work. Does this mean that they may not check my results until the first day, or is this standard procedure? BTW, they gave me two forms...A "Donor Copy" and an "Employer Copy". What it comes down to is that I passed 5 out of 5 home tests before my actual test void. 2 were the same day as the test. Out of those 2, 1 was using the first void on the day of the test. The 2nd was my void right before the actual test. I did some minor dilution the morning of the test. Since they were both 50 ng cutoff home tests, I am looking for some reassurance that I passed. They were also from two different home testing companies. My relevant stats can be found in my original thread here: http://www.marijuana.com/420/showthread.php?t=47352 Thanks a lot for your help and I apologize for the information overload. |

It is not normal to give the donor the employer copy. That jsut means that the collection company is saving the postage for mailing the copy to the employer. You are doing their work by carrying it to the employer. The employer needs the copy of the form to be able to look up results. they need the CCF number at the top right hand corner. There should be an MRO listed on the form. If not, you should have been able to ask who it is and they should have told you. None of the forms I have are missing an MRO name and number. If you took your test at the LabCorp Laboratory, and not a collection facility for labcorp, then there would be no independent courrier. Or if LabCorp sent a delivery person to retrieve the specimen from the collection facility and did not use an independent courrier, then they could write that in the "shipped by" section. There is a link somewhere here in this forum that has a lot of LabCorp codes listed. Just do a search for it. lew scannon posted it a couple of weeks ago. | |

| I too am taking a LabCorp test on Monday (hopefully I can take it Monday, HR has been behind for a week now). All of this information was found on LabCorp's website. Spend a little bit of time going through the website and you will be surprised what information can be obtained. "LabCorp does not provide Medical Review Officer services or interpretation of drug test results. Employers can obtain the services of a Medical Review Officer by contacting them directly, or through Service Providers." "Federally regulated samples must be reviewed by the MRO. This applies to negative and non-negative (substituted, adulterated, and positive) results. Federal regulations prohibit a financial relationship between the MRO and the laboratory. For company-based testing programs, the use of MRO services is strongly recommended. LabCorp does not provide MRO services" "LabCorp's Occupational Testing Services (OTS) operates one of the largest drugs-of-abuse testing networks in the US, a network that, in most cases, provides 24-hour turnaround time* for negative specimen results. In these competitive times, however, even a day may be too long to wait to make a personnel decision. So, what is the answer? — The RAdar system!" This was an ad for the RAdar system - a rapid test. It *appears* that most pre-employment testing is given an answer in around 24 hours, but if the employer needs it sooner they can get this RAdar system according to this ad. http://www.labcorp.com/datasets/labc...ter/body_d.htm -scroll down to "drug abuse" and "drug profile" to find out details about the tests. http://www.labcorp.com/pdf/doa_reference_guide.pdf - cutoffs provide by labcorp Happy reading! | Thanks for your replies....As a follow up to SEC3's point....."It is not normal to give the donor the employer copy. That jsut means that the collection company is saving the postage for mailing the copy to the employer. You are doing their work by carrying it to the employer. The employer needs the copy of the form to be able to look up results. they need the CCF number at the top right hand corner." Does this mean that HR won't be able to find out my results until I bring in the CCF form on my first day of work? Since this is a very large company that probably hires hundreds of people each day, they may have an automated results system correct? I can't imagine them waiting until orientation to find out the results. Thanks again! |
