hi everyone. i cannot tell you how thankful i am to have found this site.

my story is, i am a female and a chronic smoker for the past 7 years. i have a great opportunity to get a job in my field (i just graduated college in may) but it is a city job so i will be required to have a physical including a "drug screening."

i bought quickfix assuming that this will be a urine test, but the more i think about it, maybe it could be a blood or saliva test. i would prefer this because i can easily quit for a few days prior.

my question is this: has anyone taken a drug test during a physical for pre employment and if so what sort of test was administered?

if anyone has passed a drug test for a city job that would be even more helpful....i'm concerned about hiding my quickfix during a physical! i have no idea what this is going to entail. my big worry is that the physical will be first and i will have no way to hide the fake piss.

I have had two drug tests, pre-employment physicals.

The first (10 years ago), I underwent a physical first. I don't recall if I was asked to disrobe (I think not). If you do disrobe, you are usually allowed to keep your underwear on. The test involved a blood test, vision test, and EKG. Don't worry about the blood test, because from what I've read on this board, pot cannot be detected in blood after 24-48 hours. As a friend of mine told me, "they're just checking to see if you're a rummy/alcoholic." At any rate, nothing came of the blood test. It wasn't for cholesterol or anything like that. I went into to pee afterward. The test was unobserved. I was told not to put tp in the toilet, or flush it, as it would be considered a fail. (I passed that one.)

My second pre-employ/ua was last year; I peed first, unobserved. Then the doctor came in, listened to my heart, asked me to breathe, lectured me on smoking, etc. He also stuck his hand down my underpants and felt around my pubic region, although he did not actually penetrate my vagina, or even get to that area, with his fingers. If you're hiding your sub in a condom, you might be okay. I was told the physical would be "non-invasive" (e.g., no needles, blood tests, etc.) although I found the pubie part to invasive. (I got neg dilute, long story.)

Most likely you will be asked to empty your pockets if submitting to a urine test. My suggestion, wear cargo pants or cargo shorts, anything with a baggy pocket. Step on/flatten the bottle that you are transmitting your sub in, or condom, and stick it in one of the side pockets before you come out of the john. Most likely, however, you will have time to ditch the bottle before the doctor comes in, but don't ditch it in the john's wastebasket, because it may be searched after you leave.

Also, last year, it was a awhile before Dr. Fingers came in to examine me. If that is the case, you have plenty of time to stuff you transport sub item in your purse.

Unless you're applying for a job for the city of Las Vegas, which I understand to be the Hair Test Capitol of the World, or if you're applying for a cop or firefighter position (many police/fire force jobs require hair tests), it will probably be a urine test.

My suggestion, call HR. Ask them if you need to do any fasting (for a cholesterol type test) or if you should drink water "so I can pee" type of situation. Of course, there are wiser heads on this board that will prevail who will give you good advice.

Pre-employ, medical/collection facilities are not allowed to do body searches, although I'm still wondering what was up with last year's vagina invasion.

Good luck. Don't know you're smoking habits or if you will have time to abstain 30 days for your ua; if it's been a few weeks since you last smoked, get a home test and see where you're at.

i'm totally shocked that the dr felt you up down there. i never would have imagined that and i was planning on "crotching it" with my quickfix. i am totally sketched out about the condom thing and was just planning on using the bottle the fake pee came in. i also have been thinking, or freaking out rather, that they will be testing my urine for more than just drugs..........and in that case, since i am using synthetic urine, will they be on to me.....?

i am pretty sure it will be a urine test after doing further research about other local cities' practices. if they do in fact take my blood i'm not too worried about it. i'm sure i can abstain for a couple of days although i am an everyday smoker and have been for quite some time. i've had to go without before and i'm sure i could do it again....it is just weed anyway.

from what i've been reading, most of the urine tests have been administered first, before the physical, so that works in my favor. i definitely don't have enough time to abstain for 30 days....i'm thinking the test will be monday or tuesday of next week.

did dr. fingers happen to feel your breasts as well? maybe i should keep my sample there?

i "crotched" mine in the original bottle and wore two pairs of granny pantys (i call em "full-backs"..lol), so it would be stable. My temp was up where it needed to be after an hour.

I think Dr. Fingers was the exception. Yes, he did do a breast exam if I am not mistaken.

You know, I diluted with crap off the internet (long story). I don't know if they put a dip stick in it or not or an SVT. Looking back, I wonder if he was checking to see if I subbed because of funky results. He did try to trap me, saying, "we know the results of your drug test," when he walked in. I was like, "really," and he said, "you passed, right." Anyway, the guy was a total asshole.

Like I said, ask HR what the physical will involved and if there is anything you need to do to prepare for it. Maybe you will get an idea.

The first time I took a drug test and pre-employ, it was by a female nurse who worked for the company I worked at for 8 years. It was very professional and she put me at ease (I had abstained 42 days and passed).

It's a crap shoot whether you pee first and take the physical next (giving you time to ditch the bottle in your purse) before the doctor comes in. I've never subbed, so maybe you can pm some of these folks and get a consensus.

BTW needtopass, I know you are new and people get anxious but you posted this exact same question in the dilution thread. You are not supposed to cross post or double post. People will find your questions and answer them. I answered this question over there and then found this same post. I was a little surprised that Dr. Fingers was pushing the limits with Lola but it looks like he did not perform a full GYN exam. I wish I saw that before I wrote my post because I would have fine tuned it a little after reading about Dr. Fingers. I am glad you found it but in the future please don't cross post.

Once again needtopass420, I think my situation last year was an exception, not the rule. I've never subbed, just have a vision in my mind. There are lots of people and posts you can research for methods. I don't want you to worry incessantly (like I have done).

thanks so much again for the help. sorry about my mispost......i'm new to the message board thing.

i have prepared to sub with quickfix 4.0 but i'm concerned because the urinalysis could include more than just the drug test. on the exam sheet i picked up today it says "urinalysis....sp. gr. (which i figure is specific gravity and as i've read qf will pass this)....alb. glucose and react."

what are these other tests? will quickfix work for this or should i have a friend piss clean for me? btw, my clean friend is on anti anxiety pills that i obviously don't have a prescription for.

i'm hoping the drug test will be prephysical, or i'm just going to go with your method and "really have to go right now" and hope for the cup. i will be totally screwed if i can't pee first.

what is my best option? thanks so much for your help.....it will certainly put my mind at ease

by the way lolo, i have certainly been doing my fair share of worrying. my boyfriend keeps telling me to chill out about it and that i'm not the only person to have to do this............but i'm a drug test virgin and super scared.
