hey guys, long time lurker, first time poster right here.

anyways, i used the First Check home testing kit i bought from CVS and tested negative using my first void of the day. haven't smoked for 21 days. the negative line for thc was fainter than the control line. i'll be taking my actual drug test any day this week...is the home test accurate and should i worry? also, should i still dillute even though i tested negative on the home test? any reply would be appreciated...thank you very much in advance!

A line is a line. You are negative but not by much. As far as how accurate they are, they are fairly accurate and the control line is used to help show that the kit is still good. If you passed with the first void you should be good. An extra glass or two of gatorade wouldn't hurt, under 24 ounces if you want a little reassurance. Just don't go run a couple of miles this week.

by the way, i need to take the drug screening because i need it for college. i'd be taking classes in a clinical setting. i may take the test at a local health clinic...is that advisable?

What do you mean by a health clinic? Will it be a lab test in house or sent out or even a stick test like your home kit? You liked the quick response. You better because the clock is always ticking!

21 days is good. Can you stall the test til after 30 days? (Tell them you have to go out of town for a funeral or something.) Anyway, keep testing yourself. Since you won't be using your first void, try testing yourself in the afternoon to see if that line gets any stronger. From what I have read, an EMIT test won't be subjected to GC/MS unless it's a positive to confirm the result.

i don't know what kind of test it'll be...all i know is that i could choose where i would take my drug screening. most likely, i'd take it in a neighborhood clinic because its near my house(it's a clinic where they also give immunizations).

i was just wondering if the home kit cut off for metabolites(50ng/ml) wuld be the same as the actual drug test at a health clinic...

Most likely it will be 50ng. I went to my doctor's office to take a 50ng, because I was concerned about dilution, since I couldn't get the SVTs to work, plus I've been an absolute crazy person all summer with this test lurking.

I went to the basement to take the place. The nurse/medical technician couldn't have cared less. Gave me the cup and told me to go to the john. She was really lax, but perhaps it was because it was non-forensic testing and she wasn't trained in collecting drug screening piss.

Bottom line, I could have milked pee out of an elephant and subbed if I wanted to in there. I don't know what this clinic is like that you are thinking of, but if you can choose the place, go to a private doctor's office/clinic because chances are they will be just as lax if you need to sub.

Call then up and ask them if they give a 5 panel or 10 panel drug test and start asking them some questions. Tell them the "company" requires a 50 ng/ml cutoff and not the 100 ng/ml cutoff and see what they say.

Ask the company to provide you with a work order for the type of test you need. Most places (industrial medical facilities that do drug testing, workman's comp-type stuff) require work orders for drug tests. I went to my private doctor because I didn't need a work order and could arrange the test on my own. I paid $126 (your company will pick up the tab; save your receipt). I still recommend going to a private medical facility (tell them your doctor is there) because it was pretty lax. Since it's a regular medical facility, I don't think they get a lot of people in for non-forensic or forensic drug testing, which may allow you to sub easier. Really, you are getting a break by being able to pick the place.
