I just got a Urinator and gave it a test with water. I put 70 ml of 98 degree water into the bag, installed the batteries and wrapped it up tight. I let it sit for about 20-30 minutes and I emptied some of the fluid into a cup and took the temp. It only read like 86 degrees. Now the thing is I know they say to use only Duracell batteries and I used some cheap Walgreens brand. The heater never seemed to get that warm but the batteries were getting pretty hot. Do the Duracells really make a difference?

Jeff, I would never consider using anything in my urinator other than what is recommended. Also, start with warm water or put the bladder in your hands or armpit for awhile to let it warm up. This allows the batteries to last a long time. In tests I have had them last over night!! I have had a urinator since '98 (actually 3 of them over that time) and have had great success by following their directions exactly. Good luck!!

Well gee, Jeff! So you just didn't believe what you read? If I write, "Use only Duracell batteries in your Urinator", will you believe me?

i've used the whizzinator which uses glove warmers not batteries, but it doesn't get that much warmer. next to your body will get it to abut 94 - the extra heat is only to get it to 100 or so - it comes out at 100, cools to 94-98 when they check the temp = perfect

as for the batteries, does it really say that about duracell only? I bet the Energizer bunny isn't happy about that one....

best thing i can tell you is use the urinator testing w/ water, and then read the temp after you test pee from it...

The directions REALLY do say to use only Duracells. When all else fails read the directions and FOLLOW them.
