| First of all, which company is it? Next, did you use the search feature on this site for additional info? Many people post their lab codes on here after the fact to inform people what test it was or ask questions about tests with certain lab codes. Did you do an internet search too? Finally, did you look at the corresponding company website? Many have a "testing menu" that define lab codes. The "20" in the code is alarming. |

| Means this is not the usual pre-employ drug test with a 50 ng cutoff. The 20ng is more stringent. Say you take a 50ng and your pee has 40ngs. That means you fell under the cutoff of 50 nanograms of THC metabolites. You had THC in your system, but the test didn't pick up on it. However, if the test is 20ng and you had 40 nanograms of THC metabolities, your goose is cooked. Lot of places no longer use the 20 ng, as they did when drug tests first came out, because too many people were getting false-positives, so SAMSHA raised the cutoff to 50ngs. More likely, too many applicants were failing the test and companies were at a loose to fill their crappy jobs with reasonably competent people. |

| I am not sure if you can tell from the code if it is observed. If you are working for a big company with many employees across the country, you might want to say who it is for so if anyone has taken a test for said company, they can advise you. Also, if you use the advanced search feature and look for posts containing observed or monitored, you will find a lot of info on the subject of whether you might be watched. Pay close attention to some of the posts by Sec3. Where are you taking the test at? |

| Tests should not be observed unless the collector/employer is given cause. Either they have seen an adulteration/substitution material, you have failed a previous test, You have admitted to using illegal substances, specimen submitted is off color/temp, something along those lines. A pre-employment or random test should not be observed simply because the employer wants to. I realize this does sometimes happen in the private sector, and always happens in the military, but for DOT regulations, it is not allowed. |
