My wife and I both have to take a urine test in the next few of days. We both have not smoked since 8/11/2006 and are in our early 30's. I used to smoke daily and her more like 3 times a week. We excercise 3-5 times a week for 30-75 minutes. The form from our prospective employer says SAP 7-50 GC/MS. From searching other threads I can conclude that this is a 7 panel test with a cutoff of 50. I could not figure out what the GC/MS means. I do know that it refers to the gas chromatograph/mass spec but does that mean only to verify positives or right off the bat? If right off the bat can this test be passed by diluting? Also, my wife took a First Check at home test from the drug store today and passed. We were going to use one of those expensive drinks but after reading on here it seems like a waste of money. Should my wife be OK based on the home test? I figured she should take one more home test tomorrow morning with her first void of the day and if she passes then she should be fine for her test tomorrow afternoon. Is that a pretty safe assumption? We can't afford to have a diluted result as the next step is a hair test and we really want to avoid that if possible. My test is Monday and I am going to take a home test on Sunday morning to see where I stand. I was planning on using n2's dilution technique and have already started taking creatine to keep my levels up. Is there anything else I can do, besides subbing, to avoid a diluted result? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Milehigh, what company is performing the test? Labcorp and Quest on their websites sometimes decode the test codes in a "test menu" section. That might give you more info about when the GC/MS is performed. I do think that the 50 ng cutoff can be beaten whether it is by immunoassay or GC/MS. Look for a thread by Buzzby about this. Also, your assumption about your wife seems pretty solid as long as she doesn't change her daily routine that much between not and the test, like huge change in diet intake of fat or increases her exercise by threefold. If fact, stop exercising 4-5 days before the test. Don't forget the salty food the day of the test to avoid the negative dilute. Add 1/4 teaspoonful of salt to the gatorade (every 8 ounces) if you want.

Your test is a 7-panel test with a 50ng/mL cutoff for THC. You plan is perfect. I wish your wife had used that test on her first urine of the day, but she didn't, so now both of you will need to do another test tomorrow morning. If either of you fail, you will need to do a dilution prior to your test. I think you both have a really good chance of passing (her more than you, obviously due to your heavier use). If you need to dilute, follow the directions exactly. Don't think that "If a little is good, a lot must be better". That is what leads most people to have a diluted result. Good luck.
