I smoked pot for the first time two nights ago and didn't even get high. I only took a few hits, and considering that I didn't even feel anything, I'm wondering whether or not their is enough THC in my system for me to fail my drug test. What do you guys think?

ALSO: I have to pass the final interview for my job tomorrow before the drug test, so I can just say that I don't want the job and I won't have to take the test. I do want the job though, and I don't want my parents getting suspicious as to why I didn't get the job. If I risk it and take the test, and fail, can I get into any legal trouble for testing positive, or do I simply not get the job? Please help, I'm dying here.

You're taking your pre-employ drug test on Labor Day?

Buy a home test and test yourself tomorrow morning (Mon) using your first morning, first part pee (pee immeidately into the cup when doing your home test, not mid stream).

If you get a line you should be able to pee with confidence.

Given your usage history, I bet you're fine, but do a home test to give yourself peace of mind. Buy the THC tests at the drug store - they're about $15.

Within four to five days the THC, if any, should be out of your system. If you're still unsure of the timeline, see if you can't postpone the test for a few days. By the end of this week, you will be able for sure to pass your drug test.

I agree with Lolo69, I think you will pass, but a home test following her instructions will take away any doubt for you.

No, you cannot get into legal trouble for failing a pre-employment drug test. No one reports these to the police. The police doesn't even want to know about these tests.

According to the paperwork I signed (and also asked last year, when I turned in two neg-dilutes), the collection facility and employer can only keep test results 30 days.

Also, if you go to the same facility for test for another job and failed another test for another employer at the facility, they wipe the slate clean. The collection facility doesn't hang on to the tests results, tell other potential employers that you failed (lawsuit time), or hold against you in any way.

Thanks a lot for the help. I passed the at-home test I bought but I forgot that it shouldn't be a mid-stream sample. I think I'll be fine though, I just got the job offer today and I have 48 hours to take the test. Any THC will probably be out by then even if my at-home test was flawed. Hopefully after all this I can get back to trying weed...

The will test you everyday if you want, they are a business and want to make money. I did not know about the 30 day thing. But doesn't the employer usually have a set amount of time before they will let you reapply [if they even let you] and it is usually longer than 30 days?

I think it's some legal assurance that if one fails or tests neg dilute on a drug test, a lab can't share it with another employer who uses the same test facility. I don't know, it was a year before they let me reapply to my new gig, and even that was a fight.

I took a privacy invasion test for a company 6 months ago and failed even though I had stopped smoking 3 months prior(hair test). They told me that I could not reapply for one year.

The best part is I am so glad I did not pass since I found a much better job($4 more per hour, company van and laptop) that does not drug test at all.

I even called the company that failed me and told them "Thank you for drug testing me, I would have never found this better job if I had accepted the position with your sorry company".
