I was wondering if anyone had any experience with testing for a random UA done for a treatment program. I entered into this program as a result of a possession charge as part of a stay of proceedings. They are giving me a "random" UA, but I know it's going to be tomorrow. I last smoked on monday night, took an at home test on thursday night, friday night, and then again last night, and I passed all three, but I was really wondering if anyone knows what the cutoff levels might be for the treatment center?

im pretty sure your alright to take a drug test, if you passed three home tests.

i am not completely sure, but i think the cut off would be maybe a bit bigger for a lab?

Who is testing you, a probation officer or officer of the court, the rehab center, an employer, or someone else? If it is the rehab center is it inpatient or outpatient?

It will be the rehab center and it is outpatient.

I'm also curious why you didn't use the first void when home testing. I don't have solid proof on this though, but I would say most rehabs would follow SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) recommendations, which is the 50 ng/ml on immunoassay and 15 ng/ml on GC/MS. However, when they do the immunoassay they are testing for 31 metabolites of THC and the GC/MS only tests for THC-COOH. So a 50 ng/ml assay threshold is basically the same as a 15 ng/ml threshold for GC/MS because they are getting more things in the net.

I was in a very argumentative mood last time, and I apologize for that.

Realized how stupid I was being, and yeah.


And the reason I didn't use the first void was because my test will be around 7 pm, which gives me a lot of time to drink fluids and not worry about having to use the dirtiest void.

Welcome back. Rarely does any one actually give the first void for a test but when home testing, using the first void is like using the worst case scenerio urine. If that one passes, then any time ofthe day should pass. Since urine levels can vary a little during the day based on fluid intake, I would want to know what was the max lelvel in my urine. Since you did three, I would have done one of them using the first void so I could see what my worst case scenerio was. I understand how you wanted to get a gauge of the urine at 7 p.m. though.

I think they (the rehab) are just like probation, employers, in that they use what ever is the most economical. They are probably using (depending on your treatment) a 1-10 panel instant type of test. It might have an integrity panel included on the cup. Most facility testing use integrity testing.

Pretty sure it won't be sent out to a lab. Rehab's need instant feedback on their testing to adequately monitor their patients. The can't wait 1-4 days for a test to come back.
