hello, I had a urine test last friday (8th of sept) for a job with the state health and human services agency (working with disabled persons) Anyway, I had one thats right one days notice of the drug test and had not been to this site. I had 3 hits of strong stuff the previous friday (the 1st). All I did was drink 36 oz of water and take a multi vitamin 2 1/2 hrs before the test. I am 5'8 and 210 lbs. slow metabolism. eat kinda crap food and had not exercised for about 2 weeks. only smoke like one day every 2 months.

Anyway, I have not heard back yet either way and its now the tues the 12th and I am stressing. how long do these things take?? I
had it done at the hospital and they split it up into 2 vials. I am not sure how in depth the test was (strip or GC/MS)
Anyone know how long I will be on pins and needles waiting for these results? I already gave notice at my other crappy job.

Does anyone think I have reason to worry?

If you had not smoked in a while before Friday and you were clean, one time use can be eliminated in 3-5 days. You should hear back soon.

So do you think its true, no news is good news? or did they just not get to testing it cause it was the weekend? sorry for being OCD about this, but theis job is my dream job and there were 22 other very qualified people who interviewed for the one position it and they said it would take them 2 weeks to decide on who got the job, but then they called me 1 week later. AARGH -I just wanna know!!

You probably passed. Unless the water you drank gave you a diluted result, but I doubt it. The odds are in your favor.

It can take sometimes up to 3-4 days to get results, especially after a holiday, there is a huge backlog at the labs. Also, the HR person may not think you are a very high priority and hasn't retrieved your results online, or they are just debating when and where you should have your orientation, or your background verifications (criminal history, etc.) are taking a few days longer, there are a quite a few reasons why it is taking so long. Relax. There is nothing you can do about it anyway.
