Just got offered a nice new job. Already have a pretty good job that I can live with. I'd say I'm a moderate to heavy smoker. Hiring firm that conducted the interview said I should come in for paperwork and DRUG test on the 29th. Have been smoking pretty regularly for the past 4-5 months. Very mild to moderate stuff. I'm 5'10, 165, I'd say above average metabolism. Do I have a good chance to pass in two weeks? Should I use any method and which one? Should I dismiss the job altogether b/c I have no chance?

Are you sure it is a urine test?? That would be the a good thing to know. If you know someone that works there find out if it is a urine, blood, hair or saliva test. It does make a difference in your chances of passing.

why go to the hassles of a drug testing bunch instead of where your at.

I would assume it is a urine test b/c it is a through a firm a non-profit hired to do the interview process. It's amazing they even do it considering it's a non-profit, which usually save money by not testing. So I would assume it would be the cheapest test available.

Also, does cigarette smoking have any effect on metabolization?

I believe I read that they cannot share the info about your test with your current employer (or anyone else). So if you pass, you have some nice choices. If you fail, you have your curent job to fall back on.
