I got busted for possession & paraphernalia (rolling papers around the joints) misdemeanors. Went to court and my lawyer made a deal with the DA. I got the usual fines, court costs and 1 year probation. I went to the probation officer and paid everything off, so I owe $0. So, they told me I wouldn't have to come back again to see them, just mail in a form once a month. BUT...his boss could randomly pick me for drug testing.
I was approved to move out of the state and I don't have to transfer my probation there. If they did pick me to test, I could do the test in my new state, and just fax in the results.
Considering I owe nothing and will now be 1/2 way across the country, what do you think my odds are of getting picked? Think I could I just go to any lab, and get the test done? These are questions, I obviously can't ask them.
I was prosecuted in a small county and they said I only have a "memo" whatever that means. I've already been 3 months clean out of fear. I see others advice is to just forget about it until next year, but that is so far away...any thoughts?

That's tough. Obviously you know what the 100% right answer is. If I were you I might smoke a bowl or 4 one weekend every month or so. After being clean for 3 months it would clear out of your system relatively fast if you were to get the worst case scenario of a random test. I say "if I were you" because that's not my advice to you. As said, you know what the 100% right answer is.

My thought is you got sound advice. Another 9 months not smoking and walking the streets vs. 9 months in jail and not smoking. It is an easy choice for me. Jail sucks.

...your odds of getting picked...don't have a clue...go to any lab...don't have a clue....about your "memo", ask your lawyer. Mr. Ex. and 1toke gave you very sound advice. While this may not be advice, it should give you something to think about; my brother spent the last two yrs. of his probation in jail because he tested "dirty".!!!

Guess I knew the answer all along.
What about this? If I move to a state that has medical marijuana and I get a prescription for it. Then that would be legal in that state. Hmm...probably would still be in trouble. This sucks! 364 days till freedom!

Sounds like unsupervised probation except for that you didn't have to transfer it.

Ok - I've been bad had 2 hits last night after 117 days of being clean (was daily smoker before that for years) guess it's time to get a home test and see.
