| What is with the yelling? Ok, most natural sources of fiber will contain both insoluble fiber and soluble fiber. Insoluble fiber keeps you regular and helps prevent cancer (keeping you regular is not why it helps prevent cancer FYI). Soluble fiber is good for lower cholesterol and making you feel full so you eat less if dieting and also helps regulate sugar uptake from the GI tract. Like I said most natural sources will have both in different ratios. Your example of Raisin Bran (depending on the brand) usually has about 7-8 grams of total fiber per serving. This is usually split like 1-2 grams of soluble fiber and the rest is insoluble. Now I think Oat Bran cerals have a higher percentage of soluble fiber, around 25-35%. Metamucil uses psyllium husks which is about 65% soluble fiber. Look on the nutrition facts of most products. They will tell you total fiber as well as how it is split. |

| Just curious....Does a regular intake ( I take 4/5 daily for med. health reasons) of Metamucil provide any sort of on going benefit in keeping the thc metabolites "lower" in an "occasional smoker". (occasional smoker = 3/4 hits maybe twice a week). That along with reg exersize (walk 2 mi/4-5 days/week)

| Well I don't know by how much exactly soluble fiber increases THC elimination. As far as your situation, it also depends on how much soluble fiber you are getting from other things in your diet. Also, are you talking about the Metamucil capsules or what? Follow up with me and we will try to make an accurate guess. It is going to be based on if you are getting 7 grams of soluble fiber elsewhere plus what you get in the Metamucil. |
