What would you do if a woman came in for a drug test but there was no toilet paper in the toilet afterwards? Would you report that? Thanks

That has happened more times than I care to recall. The last time that happened, the woman had a paper towel in her hand when she opened the door. When I entered the room, she threw the towel in the garbage. I noticed there was no tp in the bowl, but didn't say anything to her. She was very nervous as it was. After all was said and done, I couldn't stand it any longer. I looked at what was wadded up in the paper towel, and it was the toilet paper she had used. (yes, I was wearing gloves). I guess she was so rattled by the entire experience that she didn't pay attention when I said: "You can use the toilet normally, you can use toilet paper, you just cannot flush or run the water in the faucet". Anyway, what am I going to say? That the donor is disgusting? If the donor successfully substituted and heated the urine to the proper temp, there is no test the lab can do to determine if the urine was hers or not. I can mention it, but in the end, it will not serve any purpose. I know she was either way nervous or substituting or both, but the lab cannot do anything about it. Good question though.

Thanks, I subbed today for another pre-employment test. Totally fine with the temp etc. but forgot to "fake wipe". Rookie mistake, yet I am no rookie! They couldn't make me retest for that right? I don't care if the tester thinks I'm gross (lol), I'm sure they have seen worse! Thank again, appreciate all the helpful threads!

Not so much curoisity, but I have to ensure that the specimen was not adulterated. I need to see what is in the toilet afterward (hence the 'no flushing' rule), and I need to see that the donor did not throw away evidence of substitution (i.e.: hand warmers, tape, condorm, etc.) If the donor put something in the garbage that she/he didn't want me to see, that raises my suspicion level and I need to check it out.
