I recently had to submit a urine sample. Luckily, they left the documentation in the biohazard bag when I went into a non-witnessed collection room. Needless to say my curiosity got the best of me. Interestingly, the paper had two check marks on it. 1. 9-Panel Screen w/ Confirmation 2. 9-Panel Screen (*semi-quantitized THC results if THC screen positive) Does the 'confirmation' indicate they WILL perform a GC/MS test regardless of screen results or does it indicate they will perform a GC/MS test ONLY if the screen is positive? and Why are were there two check marks? Are they performing two separate screens, was this a mistake or has somebody had a similar experience (considering one had access to filled out paper work) FYI... I'm 160lbs, mid-20's, high metabolism, low body fat. I abstained for 16 days and home tested negative (a definate negative result). Took a few pulls from some Hindu-Kush on day 17, a few pulls of some Soma Diesel on day 18. Kept up my low-fat, high-fiber diet for until day 22. Test negative w/ home test (50ng threshold for THC) with questionable accuracy (the line next to THC was lighter than the control, but not 'faint') on day 21. Switched to high-fat (mmm...rib-eye steak) on day 22 and minimal physical exertion until I was tested on day 23. The lab was Strong Hospital (associated with Univeristy of Rochester) There was only one security label on the collection container. It was a adhesive tamper-resistant decal labeled "sterile". However, when I was finished submitting my collection, the counselor instructed my to place in a mini-refrigerator (that also had another sample). No other security/chain-of-custoday labels were placed on the collection container in my presence. Does this constitute violation of chain-of-custody? No marker, indicator or label was placed on the collection container to indicate it was ready for screening or that my sample would be safe from 3rd party tampering. This is my second screen. My first was in May and I was negative (My best regards and gratitude to SEC3 and N2). In May I was clean for 14 days, took a few puffs on day 15...was clean from day 16 until day 23...took 2 puffs each night from day 23 until day 28...tested on day 34 with negative results. I performed the aspirin/dilution method.

bump... Some added information; I did not use aspirin or dilution to check myself on day 21. The sample was collected at a 'non-profit' chemical dependency treatment center and sent to a university lab for analysis. Any thoughts on the two check marks indicating two separate tests? I go in to see my PO Monday. Any suggestions or related experiences are appreciated.

My sister-in-law used to work at Strong Memorial in Rochester. I am about 4 hours from Rochester, but anyway. My advice is to do a search for "probation" using the search feature. Read what some have to say and hopefully if you pass you will stop smoking until you are off probation. Walking the streets drug free is better than being in jail drug free. Sorry for the sermon, but consider what I said. Good luck.

Actually, I found the testing method and cut-off levels on their website. It took some effort browsing through medical lingo, but discovered they use a CEDIA (Cloned Enzyme Donor ImmunoAssay) test with a cut-off level of 25ng/ml. Bunk! Following further research, I found the CEDIA has two cut-off levels available...50ng and 25ng. In comparison to other immunoassay tests, it has a slightly higher rate of false-negatives. Possibly the reason behind the 25ng/ml cut-off. After this incident, I don't think I'll have to worry about indulging until the end of my probation term. It's just not worth it...for now. I guess all I can do now is pray for the aspirin/dilution method. There is a 24-hour phone line I can call for results...but I'm reluctant to actually do this. Thoughts??

Well, I passed the test. Whew!!!! From my experiences, I can confidently say that aspirin/dilution technique is effective when confronted with a CEDIA test. Hallelujah and praise the lord!
