I have been searching around learning about diuretic's because that is our number one friend besides water during dilution.

I learned warm cranberry juice is the best over-all drink to take.
1. Its warm - it passes through you quicker
2. It supposedly makes the inside of your bladder slippery, and bacteria (found this info on womens health forums) is harder to "stick" to the bladder walls. So cranberry juice makes your bladder a slip-and-slide for your THC metabolites as well I would assume.

Also as a general rule of thumb, I prefer to get "hammered" the night before the test and actually until the time comes that I need to stop drinking to be sober. No science backs this up, but when you drink alcohol, you dehydrate your body by urinating frequently, BUT.....you wake up with cotton mouth, or if you stay up all night or what have you...you get cotton mouth, which is in itself a reason to start drinking fluid. I have "coached" people get clean, and I notice some people are not as determined to drink fast enough to get their urination frequency to 10-15 minutes apart. A little cotton mouth can help....

People have discussed dilution, but I want to remind people to DRINK WATER AT 90 DEGREES OR ABOVE. You piss 98 degree piss, so if you drink 98 degree water, it can only speed the process up. I have no science to back this up, but it makes common sense.

I love what you guys have done, and I want to create this thread to look in to the science of our bladders, diuretics, and what helps us the most.
So we mastered dilution, now lets make it a science of perfection.

Some over the counter diuretics will color your urine blue and should be avoided. A fiber-based laxitive will also help by binding bile-acids. Use caution. Fiber laxitives can alter one's bowel schedule and lead to dependancy.

When using the detox drinks I have often found myself taking craps, but my "crap" is more like a watery-bile style. Im pissing out my penis, and pissing out my ass if you will. My diet is far from perfect being an average american eater (pizza's, pasta's, mexican food, and some fast food). But I have a perfect track record for passing with less then 48 hours clean even, and the times I find myself having trouble passing (meditests.com is where I get drug tests for less then $2.00 a piece in bulk). So I do my own "self testing" usually when I am getting drunk drinking beer and urinating often. It is possible to pass without "crapping a bunch", but I have better luck when I do have this "watery bile stool". Its like a snotty, watery, mix with just a LITTLE stool.

All over the counter diuretics are very mild, and some even turn your piss blue supposedly, but they also are not as instant as you would think, and to top it off one I have tried after researching it takes 1-2 days before it even starts to effect your frequency of urination.

This is some good information.
Nephrons filter 125 ml of body fluid per minute; filtering the entire body fluid component 16 times each day. In a 24 hour period nephrons produce 180 liters of filtrate, of which 178.5 liters are reabsorbed. The remaining 1.5 liters forms urine.


I am going to make my biggest claim here now. Drinking excess amounts of water several hours before the test CAN benefit you when you actually need to start drinking like crazy. Here is why

Water reabsorption is controlled by the antidiuretic hormone (ADH) in negative feedback. ADH is released from the pituitary gland in the brain. Dropping levels of fluid in the blood signal the hypothalamus to cause the pituitary to release ADH into the blood. ADH acts to increase water absorption in the kidneys. This puts more water back in the blood, increasing the concentration of the urine. When too much fluid is present in the blood, sensors in the heart signal the hypothalamus to cause a reduction of the amounts of ADH in the blood. This increases the amount of water absorbed by the kidneys, producing large quantities of a more dilute urine.

I dare to say that drinking more then 4 hours in advance is helpful because, at this moment I do not know how long it takes the hypothalamus to reduce the amounts of ADH in the blood. So if your drinking heavily in advance, your body's hypothalamus is already in "dilute mode". The whole name of the game is better safe then sorry. Now I have passed drug tests with 2 to 4 hours of prep time. But I want to suggest to fellow board members to start your dilution techniques 6 hours in advance of the test so ADH levels are as low as possible, and dilution is as high as possible.

So you want lower ADH levels for dilution, but if your sodium levels fall below a certain point. The Renin enzyme will trigger thirst BUT raise your ADH levels. You don't need thirst, you need to cram as much water as you can. (This backs up some members technique of increasing sodium (or salt) content in the drinks they use when diluting)

A decrease in blood pressure results in a decreased concentration of sodium ions. The macula densa cells release prostaglandins in response to this, which triggers the granular cells lining the afferent arterioles to release renin into the bloodstream.

I am ready to be flamed if I am wrong, but I whole heartedly agree with members of the board who when diluting ensure the drink they use has a proper amount of sodium in it.
More sodium = higher blood pressure = less ADH being released.

We have learned many obvious things in our attempts to pass drug tests. But you can beat science with science. Just like how earlier pioneers in beating the drug tests found out altering the PH of your sample can cause false negative. If we learn everything there is to know about the human excretory system, we can work the science angle a little more I think and get even better results.

Pamabrom is the most popular over the counter diuretic. Comes in 25mg and 50mg sizes. I would start taking it 18-24 hours in advance as it isn't as instant as we would prefer.

Diuretics are of very limited usefulness in passing a UA and are completely unnecessary. All you need for a good dilution is exactly what is stated in the dilution threads linked at the top of the Urine Testing forum.

By the time what you drink has been in your stomach for a couple of minutes, it's at body temperature. It has no effect on how rapidly your body processes water. All you need to do is drink more than your body needs and it'll pass through very quickly. If you drink to the point where you need to urinate every 10 to 15 minutes, you'll be in a negative-dilute situation: not enough creatinine and too-low specific gravity.

Pure conjecture.

THC metabolites are chemicals dissolved in your urine. There is no reason to believe that the slipperiness of the bladder walls has any effect on THC metabolites.
