Hello, I have just been offered a job and need to do a pre-employment drug test. I have been smoking off and on for 2 years but have not smoked in about 10 days now. I am female, 5'7 180 lbs, and I have a fair/average metabolism. A friend of mine (who I know for a fact is clean) has offered to sub for me but I don't know if my test will be supervised or not. She said that I can just put it in some sort of flip top container and keep it up my you know what and pop the lid while it is still in me and that should work. I don't know though.........I would rather try to use my own and just dilute or use one of those drink things but I really don't want to take any chances. This job is very important and I really didn't think I would be offered it which is why I didn't stop smoking earlier (STUPID me, I know!). Any advice offered would be REALLY appreciated!

I am pretty sure it will be a urine test. It's pre-employment so I doubt they would go as far as to test blood or hair. By next week when I have the test I will have about 2 weeks clean. I am now leaning toward the dilution method. When I was smoking I only took maybe 2-3 hits off a pipe every other day or so. I am soooooo done. I am really kicking myself in the a$$ now.

Chaotic, leave NORML to trying to get marijuana legalized, leave passing a drug test to this website. NORML is out of their league when it comes to drug testing.

Read the substitution sticky and then dilution. I don't think you stand a good chance using dilution because you are overweight for that height and this tends to slow down your body's ability to get rid of THC metabolites. Most pre-job tests are not supervised but if you really want to dilute, get a home test or two.

Ok you guys, I just went to the drug store and bought a home test. I was almost certain it would be positive but much to my surprise it was negative!! No doubt about it......the line was clear as day! Could this be a mistake?? I know it's the evening and I usually drink a lot of liquids daily and urinate frequently but it has to mean something! I did nothing special today. I am definately going to get another one in the next couple of days and try it in the morning. I know that I used to have a very high metabolism but I thought it all went to shit after my pregnancy and I gained so much weight. Do you guys think I'm safe to go in and take the test using the dilution method or should I still consider substitution. Please, any advice will be great! My whole career is on the line. Thanks so much!
