I found out a couple of hours ago that I am going to have to do an observed UA very soon. I tested myself after about a gallon of water today. I showed positive on a dip test. I know I will take a few days(at least) to show a neg result using the full diution technique.

I know that a dilute or dilute negative will will buy me a few days. My question is, is the vaildity test different at a lab different than a dipstick test, meaning will they reject my solution as diluted, but not test it?

IF the specimen is too diluted, and the creatinine levels fall too low, then they could call it too diluted and not test it, but you would have to drink a LOT of water and practically be peeing constantly to be that diluted.

You could be diluted and positive. In that case, it is the same as a positive. Which I gather from your title of the post is what you were asking.

If you are male, it is very hard to sub while being observed. If you are female, it is possible. You could do a search and find out what to use and how to do it.

Depending on how soon "very soon" is, I really don't think you are going to pass without a miracle.

Is it standard to test a sample that is as diluted to that point? Or, will they reject and have me retest?

If it test diluted, of the temp is out of range, more than likely you'll need to stay at the piss testy place and provide another sample. Their not going to let you go home and come back another day
